Question about Konami Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

1 Answer

PS3 Saves I downloaded Castlevania Symphony of the Night onto the PS3, but I cannot save onto the PS3 via HDD. Instead, I'm told that I can't save, as there are no memory cards present.

Why when I download a ps3 game (dead nation) off the network, when I go to install it, it tells me to connect my PSP? I don't own a PSP and I downloaded the PS3 version.

delete downloaded files (maybe also game settings and saves)
restart ps3
download games again through the 'account management' part of the interface. Not via the store , via the account mgmt.

HI, backup your games. If you're a playstation plus member you can back them up online. Otherwise, insert a usb drive, go across to "game" then up or down to "Saved data utility (ps3)". Then select the save you want to backup by pressing triangle. Select copy, choose your usb drive (or usb key) as the destination.
After you have backed up all the saves you want, go across to settings, then to system settings. then select "Restore default settings." Let it have its process, and turn off the PS3 then back on again.
You may need to set up your network settings again.
If it still doesn't work, follow steps above but select "Restore PS3 system" instead. This is when having the backed up game saves is needed as you will have to copy them back from the usb drive (or from online via playstaiton plus) onto your restored ps3.

there is a way to perform a hard reset of the console. i had to do this once.
BACK UP BEFORE YOU DO THIS OR YOU'LL LOSE GAME SAVES MUSIC ECT. GO TO THE BACK UP UTILITY IN THE MENU AND BACK UP WITH A SD CARD(PS3 FAT 60gb) USB STICK OR EXTERNAL HDD
1. Power Off the PS3 via the power switch in back and power back on w/switch.
2. Hold Power Button on the Front until you hear 3 beeps.
3. Then go through the initial setup and then run a full Format via System > Format. (will take approx 3 1/2 hours). You may need to have our AV cables ready if your using HDMI (in case HDMI isn't detected after initial reset).
4. Restore your backup you made prior to doing factory/hard reset (optional, if you created a backup).
This should take care of the glitch in the A/V

My disc is not working i wanted to know if i could fix it

If you're attempting to play it in a PS2, make sure the disc is clean and free of scratches. If it's scratched up pretty bad, it'll have trouble reading.

The only other thing I could suggest is using the PS2 swap trick and playing a backup copy of the game.

I have saved all my data from my 60gb ps3 onto mem stick but cant download to my new slim ps3 helpppppppp

what type of data if its game saves you accually have to goto game saves on XMB and look in mem stick then hit triangle to copy them to the HDD. videos and other stuff should just show up under videos. basicly everything you copied over you have to goto that area of the XMB to copy it back.

are you seeing the data just not able to copy it or what?

My playstation turns on and everything, but once i plug it in to any kind of television there is no picture or sound

Heres one solution that I found. If your ps3 turns on but does not boot up just stays a black screen most likely the hard drive got corrupted. So unfortunately you will lose all your saves. But to save the system when you power on the ps3 hold the button down its should beep once keep holding it and it should turn red in standby mode. Keep holding the power button down though. It should turn green again keep holding it should beep then double beep this time instead of going into standby. Let go now and some options will come onto the screen. You will need to plug in your ps3 controller and 6 options should come up. Reformat PS3 worked for me but I lost all my saves. Good luck!

Hard Reset procedure for the PS3 (as instructed by Sony CS).

Be sure to backup your settings/games saves by doing a System > Backup on your PS3 or you may lose your game saves!

1. Power Off the PS3 via the power switch in back and power back on w/switch.

2. Hold Power Button on the Front until you hear 3 beeps.

3. Then go through the initial setup and then run a full Format via System > Format. (will take approx 3 1/1 hours). You may need to have our AV cables ready if your using HDMI (in case HDMI isn't detected after initial reset).

4. Restore your backup you made prior to doing factory/hard reset (optional, if you created a backup).
