If you mess with those mufflers you are goin to loose back pressure and your bikes performance will suffer. Get some slip ons , Vance and Hines, or Rinehart or Sampson. You'll get the sound you want and your performance will be enhanced as well

Where is the speed sensor on a 2001 fatboy

Hi Anonymous, try cleaning your speed sensor located on top of the transmissions right side between the top cover and the chrome starter end cap on Twin Cams and on top of the engine case between the rear cylinder and the starter motor for Sportsters. Remove the the bolt that secures the sensor and pull it out of the transmission. Inspect sensor for obvious damage and repace if necessary. If sensor has no damage then wipe clean any obvious contamination like micro fiberous material with a clean rag and reinstall, torque bolt to 8 ft lbs. Usually it connects under the seat somewhere and the wires run under the fender in a trough.

Cannot locate oil plug drain for my 2001 Fat Boy FLSTF

So I checked another Harley maintenance book of mine, and it says "On pre-2000 Softails, the drain is on the right side of the tranny near the dipstick. On the 2000 and later Softails, the drain is located on the bottom between the two shock absorbers. The drain plug on Dynas and FLs is located on the bottom of the transmission case next to the oil drain."

I got this from another site, I was going to say, it might not be on the bottom, but I found this, seems nobody can find it. Hope this helps.
