Question about Metabo BSP15.6PLUS 15.6 Volt Cordless Drill / Screwdriver BSP15.6 Plus

1 Answer

When you push the trigger turning on the drill it pulsates.

There is no hammer head setting so it should not be doing this. The settings are just screw and drill.

The tool has an 'impuls' function that is very handy for starting bits into hard metal with out walking, or driving or removing screws with damaged heads. The pulse allows the drill bit to penetrate the metal and the screw driver bit to find its' best seat in the screw head.

There is a switch on the rear of the tool. Flip the switch one way to turn on the impuls feature, the other way to turn it off!

Hitachi dv18dvc drill just stopped battery fine

You can test the battery by using a voltmeter.

Set the voltmeter to DC and to read up to 20 volts.

If its getting a reading, then the trigger switch most likely shorted out. If not, then the battery is defective.

Can't engage drill or hammer settings on de walt dc 925 xrp

Try turning the ring to 2 or 3 and run the drill holding the chuck so the clutch slips then try turning it to drill setting. Also try to do it in different speed settings. If not it sounds like a fault in the gear module. It might just be a metal clip just under the clip in side. Undo the 4 screws holding the gearbox onto the housing and carefully remove it, you might see the fault or loads of dirt that needs cleaning. Go to for a drawing.

The drill starts and stops while I hold the trigger. Like its just missing, then it wont run. How can I fix this?

I suggest that you check the brushes, and the armature. Worn out brushes sometimes cause that condition.

Also, try different trigger settings, to eliminate that as an issue.

I have 2 dewalt 18 volt hammer drills. The first one died about 2 years ago. The trigger seemed to mess up. I took it apart several times thinking I could fix it. I finally gave up on it. It's laid...

Hi, Take the drill apart using a star driver. When taking the chuck assembly from the yellow section have the drill chuch down to stop bits falling out. Once handle is apart popout the triggger assembly. Remove the two power leads from the assembly. Try a direct connection to the battery (polarity doesn't matter. If the motor goes it means that the trigger is U/S. Put a tester across the terminals (either set). You may have a short (as I had). It appears to me that the trigger is not user servicable. I used one from a DeWalt recip saw with a mod on the reverse lever. Works well.

Good luck.

Dewalt drill. I have a stuck chuck.

Hi there.
spray some oil into it and tap it lightly with a small hammer. Then hold the chuck and gently squeese the trigger in forward setting and backward setting. Do not use full force on backward setting.
This should do the trick.

Got a cordless18v dewalt drill that wont go onto its hammer setting

Try pressing the trigger at the same time as turning the selector collar. If you still can't get it to turn try using an air nozzle to really blow everything really clean.

No power

Check the Cable between the plug and the switch for continuity using the ohmeter or continuity tester part of a cheap multimeter. Place one lead on each of the plug contacts in turn, and the other on the other end of that wire. If this is okay, check the switch for continuity by placing each lead of your tester on the in and out contacts and pressing the trigger. If still no joy, check the brushes. If still no joy, check the motor windings for continuity.

Cannot engage hammer action

the problem is the metal part of the clutch that meets the pin from the transmission. remove the 4 screw from the clutch & check if the the inside of the clutch & the trans pin meets. all you can do is to push back the metal parts of the clutch setting.
