Seems the problem is with your ram. reinsert it after cleaning its contact leads.it should work. if it doesn't, replace your ram with a new one.
the system beep indicates a trouble with any of the connected hardware. check all hardware by detaching and reconnecting them.

Different types of beeps mean different things in any pc. The most common causes of these beeps is faulty RAM memory or a faulty display card. It could also be that they are not seated properly in their respective slots. Try removing the two items and re-inserting them firmly in their slots. If this does not solve the problem you can then try inserting them into another machine to determine if they have a problem.

Bad Power Supply

Weak voltage power rail

Do you, or your friend have access to a multimeter? An economical unit can be purchased for as little as $8 to $12. Available in a multitude of stores. An auto parts store is but one example. Analog or digital is fine.
This way you can test the 3 main voltages coming from the Power Supply.

A) 3.3 Volt power rail
B) 5 Volt power rail
C) 12 Volt power rail

(All DC voltages. In comparison, two D cell flashlight batteries store
3 Volts DC. { 1.5 Volts each )

OR; do you have a KNOWN to be good, Compatible power supply you can borrow for a test unit?
Compatible: Has to have at least the same Wattage, or more, and has to have the correct power cables, and number of power cables needed.

Primer:
1) If ALL of the LED lights were on at once, they would use less than 1 Watt of power.
2) EACH fan uses 2 to 3 Watts of power.

3) A typical Processor can use 51 to 125 Watts of power. Just depends on what Processor it is.

Your Power Supply doesn't have enough power to 'b-low it's nose'.

Nothing shows on monitor? It isn't going to. No Signal. No video signal.
This is because the computer isn't sending one. Why? Because the computer isn't working.

Let's start with this. Post back in a Comment as to your results.

Hp pavilion a1220n comptur will not start unplugged unit and when i plugged to back in it would not start

Do you see anything on the monitor screen? Does the tower make any beeping noise or clicking noise, or does the fan tries to start up when you power the computer on? Are the cables connected properly?
If you see anything on the monitor screen, or if you hear a beeping sound, let us know so we can diagnose further.

Have lg monitor flatron e2260 . Have had for about 3 weeks. Starting today, the monitor goes black and states "d-sub power saving mode". The tower stays on. Thx

1. Check the connections and make sure they are still tight. If the monitor isn't getting data signal it can go into power saving mode. Since it was working I would check this first.

2. Look in control panel under POWER OPTIONS and make sure it's not set to turn off after so long.

3. Also check the settings for your screensaver under display settings. That too could put it into poewr saver mode.

It could be a setting on the monitor itself that somehow got changed. Check out the settings to see if anything has changed.

Yellow power light on HP SR1420NX

For reasons yet to be determined, your computer is not talking to your monitor.

This could be the monitor cable came loose from the tower (this is our favorite, because it is such an easy repair), or something on the motherboard (that is, anything) that is not functioning and preventing your computer from starting.

Unplug the connecting cable, and plug it back in again, making sure that it is seated properly.

Do you hear any sounds besides the fans? You should be able to hear the faint clicking of a hard drive starting up also. If you hear this, the problem is not in the computer, but in the communication to the monitor.

Good luck
tony

No video

Try to check the light on the monitor. If it is amber, then check the video cable both from the back of the monitor and the tower. Try a known-good monitor. Check the diagnostic LEDS of the tower. There are four of them in the front panel. When the computer starts normally, the lights flash. After the computer starts, all four lights display solid green. If the computer malfunctions, the color and sequence of the lights identify the problem. If you have a solid green light on the tower, no beeps heard and no video, check the LEDS. If you get 2-4 light, a possible graphics card failure has occurred. If the computer has an external graphics card, open the tower, remove the card and put it back in. If still persist, try a known-good card. If it still does not resolve the problem, try reseating the memory cards. Remove and put it back in. If still no go. Then it's a motherboard problem.
