Question about Dell Inspiron E1505 Notebook

2 Answers

When I try turning my dell inspiron e1505 laptop on, it doesn't boot up all the way and says that there are no bootable devices found on the computer. i ran the setup test or whatever, and it failed the harddrive test, saying that there was no detectable harddrive. i made sure the hard drive was in good and tight and tried again but the same thing happened. got any ideas?

Try to listen the noise coming from H-disk and note that its normal or abnormal.. like clicking or something....

Remove your H-disk a try new one... its surely a H-disk issue...

regards,

:)

Nooooooooopsss old files are saved in the old drive which is not working now..

    but

There are few ways to recover data from damaged H-Drives.

Find any technician who repairs the H-dsks. he may be able to rescue some data..

but as you are telling its Clicking whole the time...... Data recovery chances are very low....

Hi, try pressing the ESC key during bootup, this will allow you to boot in safe mode, from where you can reset your operating system to a time before the problem started.

Wont boot up screen is joust saying no bootable device

Insert a windows disk, boot into setup, and if windows tells you it cannot find any Harddrives, then replace the HDD, and repeat the first step, but with more luck this time around.

I dont know my dell inspiron e1505 admin password, how to unlock it ... in the system recovery options

The only way to reset the Admin password is through SAM database, first you need to create a USB bootable drive and download password reset program (it's DOS base) after you've created a USB bootable drive put the password reset program there and boot your PC to USB and type the password reset program name, and you are ready to reset the administrator password.
