Nad amp htr 2 remote stuck in flashing loop

The remote control flashes constantly

  • Anonymous Jun 23, 2012

The NAD HTR-2 universal remote control has a design flaw in that some of the buttons will stick in the depressed position when they are pressed down at an angle. The result is that the function buttons flash red, the batteries eventually drain, amd the remote fails to operate. If this happens to your HTR-2 NAD remote, look carefully at the buttons, and you will find one which has stuck somewhat sideways in the depressed position. There is no need to service the remote. Simply release the stuck button by depressing it and freeing it from the stuck position.

SOURCE: NAD T760 remote control

You could buy a universal remote control and try the following NAD audio remote codes to program it with:
NAD
575 773 975

I read somewhere else that the 'Supplied Code for NAD receivers' was 033, but cannot confirm this. Try the first 3 first.

Universal remotes tend to be pretty cheap, certainly cheaper than buying one from NAD.

Good Luck

SOURCE: the volume knob is flashing red on my AX-SD1 amp..no sound.

Unplug the receiver, let it sit for a minute or two then plug it back in. It's either in "mute" or in Protection. Generally, Yamaha's will say "Ck. Spkrs" If it still has a problem, post a comment and I will look up some sources and help some more.

SOURCE: I have a yamaha htr 5890. I would like to hook up

You are probably connected to the pre-out jacks. These are not amplified. Connect them to the B speaker outputs(screw down connectors). If that won't work (and it should), you can connect to the "Presence" speaker connections(spring loaded connections).

SOURCE: some buttons on my remote for my yamaha htr 5750

Read this procedure to possibly fix the remote:
http://remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Display&contents=help_deadremote&uuid=A12963989782821
They also sell replacement remotes.
Zoom in on the picture of the original remote provided on the site (or look at your own) and get the actual remote model number.

or check eBay: search for "(model of the device or the remote) remote", check the 'include description' box. Usually cheaper than the vendors.

I have an HTR-2 NAD remote. All the buttons except for the ON button are working. is there anyway to fix this?

Remote controls have an operating code which entered right will cause all functions to work. However if you were given the wrong remote or it doesn't have the right code, certain buttons will not work.

Check that the appliance it operates is the right model for the remote. Some remotes will allow reprograming others are fixed. If you can reprogram it will be just a question of finding out which code the amp uses and entering that. You can search online for the codes for your model.

It's not uncommon for the wrong remote to be sent out when first sold. Some people don't know it's wrong as the remote works nearly all the functions, just not all.

HTR-6260 remote control not working

Programming a Device using Code Search: 1- Manually turn ON your device (TV, VCR, Cable Box) 2- Press and "HOLD" CODE SEARCH 3- Press and release the device button you want to set up (TV, VCR, Cable Box) However, if you are using AUX for a device, press and release AUX first and then the device button for the type of device to be programmed (TV, VCR, or Cable). The selected device button will flash once. 4- Release CODE SEARCH. 5- Press OFF/ON repeatedly until the device turns off (you may have to press up to 100 times at a rate of once per second). 6- Once the device turns off, press and release ENTER. 7- With the device on, press any other button. If the device responds, no further programming is required. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 1-6.

OSD for NAD T752

The blue screen indicates a proper connection (signal received by the monitor). Try selecting "amp" on your HTR 2 remote then use any directional button at the center of the remote, the keys which circle the "Enter" button. Hopefully you will then see the menu appear. Use the same directional keys to navigate the menus.
