Look at the fuel coming out at the spark pug, if its a spray and not a fog try replacing the nozzel, for the R 55 they are less than $20.00 from Reddy parts.com

My reddy heater comes on and burns perfectly for up to 30 minutes then it shuts off and blows smoke for a couple of seconds before it completely shuts down.

This doesn't help. There at least 4 60k Reddy Heaters models -some are spark plug heaters, some have the new Hot Surface Ignitor technology. All heaters have specific model. Without you knowing the model I can't help, sorry.

Reddy heater professional series smoking not starting

Remove the top cover. There is an ignitor that glows at start up. Look to see if yours is functioning. They break easily and yours could be bad.

THE HEATER STARTS THEB BLOWS ALOT OF SMOKE

There are any number possibilities for intermittent running.
1. Bad ground connection at the Ignition Device (transformer, spark box)
2. restricted fuel filter causing fuel starvation
3. crack in the plastic end cover
4. crack in the airline
5. crack in the fuel line
6. crack in the nozzle adapter
7. water in the fuel
8. Others I’m sure I left out

You must be the one to troubleshoot & find the cause.
