I don't think that is an xbox live related problem. to check if is an xbox 360 problem or the xbox live, or maybe the hard drive. Remove the hard drive and try to play a game like this. if it doesn't play is the xbox 360 since all the info for xbox live will be in the hard drive.
If you have a newer arcade xbox 360 they come with an internal memory, so the xbox live info could be there. If that's the case delete the gamer tag that has the xbox live capabilities and try it again.
You can always recover a gamer tag from any xbox.
Note: you don't really download anything when you connect to xbox live, it's just like connecting to the internet. All they need is your info to be able to connect.
There are two ways to set up wireless connection to your Xbox 360, and get Xbox LIVE. Now remember, for you to do anything with the wireless connection, you need to buy Xbox LIVE. The company has a 3 month free trail for Xbox LIVE that you can sign up for. Then, when you have that bought, your true experience can begin. If you are fortunate enough that you console location is near your internet router, then you can hook up your 360's internet cord to the back of your router. then you will have to go to your internet configuration and test your connection, and you will have live. The other way is by going to Best Buy, Walmart, Target, Gamestop, or any other game seller and buy something that is called the Xbox 360 wireless connection router. I'm not sure if that is the exact name, but it looks like a pretty small internet router. Then, you hook that up to the front or back of your 360, into one of the many USB ports, and you install it. You may need help and may have to call Xbox 360 customer service. But, those are the two ways to get live.
Please rate.
You have to purchase an xbox live membership, and then you can connect with an ethernet cord right to the consel from your modem, or purchase the wireless adapter for it.
Basically i know its a rip off but if u wanna use wireless with the xbox 360 u need to buy the official xbox 360 wireless router which is about £60.There is another way if u dont use wireless u can connect the xbox 360 to a router or the phone line then go to your windows firewall and set it up manually.Hope this can help you .Joe stevenson
Netopia's Modem my also act as a Router protecting your system from internet traffic! You need to check your model to insure what you have. If it is a Router you will have to Contact Netopia in regards to configuring Pin Hole on the Router to open the gaming ports on the Router.
Live goes down randomly everyday now after christmas. You can check the status of Xbox live on www.xbox.com. They usually will post a report when they are having problems. I guess all the new Xbox owners after christmas are clogging up the Live system and it can't handle everyone. Very aggrevating. They need to get their servers upgraded... fast. Nothing like paying monthly for something and not being able to use it because a ton of other people are using the free one month trial that comes with the system.
Well I've been having problems as well especially with Call Of Duty 4. I'm 14 and I was told its simply the Christmas overload that everyone has gone out and bought the system, games, and xbox live. Give it a month or so and see how it works out. Also, if you have a router, try connected the ethernet cord (if u have one) to the modem directly......it may work but dont take my word for it. Also, be sure you have DSL or Comcast. Good Luck.
The xbox live board is down,so if you pass all tests except the xbox live one, this is the problem.I rang them and they said over 50% of users are having this problem. Its because so many people went on it over Christmas and the system got overloaded. They said they're working on it and it should be up and running in a week or two. ~~PS~~ I rang on the 12-1-08 so it should be up by the 20th,its not your fault, the servers down.
