Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines
I have had this set for only about 2 years. They are Whirlpool Gold, Ultimate Care II, Commercial Quality, Super Capacity, with AccuWash. Last week I went to do laundry as usual but noticed once the load was in and the tub filled with water, it didn't go to the next cycle. I thought it was weird at the time so I did everything the troubleshooting thing says ie... check the breaker, see if the load might be out of balance, plugged in and so on. All was normal. I pulled out a few things and rebalanced the remaining clothes and it started working. I know for sure I didn't over load it but whatever. Then yesterday doing the wash again and again the same drill but this time I can only have maybe a dozen items in the wash on Super Large load. This is rediculous!!! I don't know what is wrong with it and now wish I had my old Amana ones back! HELP!!!!

SOURCE: water doesn't stop filling tub
water not stopping filling is the pressure switch its a long thin tube that goes from the bottom of drum to the front top about the thickness of a pencil this needs taking off clearing through and checking for pin holes then refitting this should solve water problem

Since your washer worked fine while in Germany and now is exhibiting this problem at your new home, you may want to double check how it was installed. I suspect you may have a problem known as "siphoning". The following link explains:
This could be a simple situation where the drain line on the washer is not installed correctly. There are minimum height and length requirments on the drain line. In addition, make sure the stand pipe you have the drain hose inserted in has a proper air gap to allow draining. All of this is explained in the link provided.
I hope this information is helpful to you. The majority of the situations arise from improper installation and is not an operaitonal problem with the washer. If, however, you double check everything and still have problems, please post back and let me know.

I have the same problem, and i think it is a problem with the agitator i pulled mine off, (remove softener insert below that is a seal easily removed and then a 7/16'' bolt) seems a 'clutch' mechanism between base and upper agitators is shot.
