Question about Samsung SC-D103 Mini DV Digital Camcorder
When I put a tape into the camera and turn it on to the Camera mode for recording I get that flashing Protection message disabling me to record. Even if I switch the tab on the tape over to Rec I still get that message. Any suggestions or similar experiences?
This camera has a history of the flexible harness located on the cassette housing tearing when it rubs against the frame as the housing moves in and out. The harness tears and opens the circuit that detects the tapes record lockout tab, the camera is preventing you from recording on the tape in error. This repair requires replacemnent of the cassette housing, not for the faint of heart. I wish you luck. Joe Weibel customelectronics.org
