Question about Panasonic Panafax UF-890 Plain Paper Laser Fax
Our Panafax 890 has the message File System Setup displayed several times a week. We have to turn off the machine to clear it. The machine will not pickup any calls when this message is displayed. What could be the cause of this?
Sounds like either bad memory or bad main board
what i would like you to do is turn the power off , open the top you can see if there is a falsh memory card in there. if it is take it out, if there is none im sorry to say your main board is gone

It sounds like you have a main circuit board failure.
However, try this.
Open the toner door and remove the cartridge
make sure the machine is turned ON
Unplug the power cord
open up the document feeder by pulling straight up
hold down the pointed black switch
closest to the small glass while plugging the power cord back in until you hear a BEEP, close the document feeder.
scroll down to SHIPMENT SET
The machine will REBOOT in 2 minutes.
