If you can try using a bit of card through the manual tray and force it gently through this may dislodge the bits of paper

Epson dfx9000 it gives me paper jam

Hi there,
My epson printer showed a paper jam light although no paper was visible.
I discovered my son had had a paper jammed and ripped the paper out and a tiny piece was jammed inside but was not visible easily.
***NO RESPONSIBILITY ACCEPTED FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE IF YOU USE THIS SOLUTION I USED TO FIX MY PRINTER*********
i cut an A4 sized square of cardboard from a cereal packet.
I inserted this instead of paper and attempted to use the feed paper button to eject the paper jam.
This did not initially work so as i kept pressing the paper feed button i forced the cardboard into the printer in the same direction that the paper feeds whilst printing.
The cardboard pushed the tiny piece of paper out.
Turn off the printer and then turn back on - you should find the printer now works.
I also found it helpful to clean the feed path and to try and keep dust from settling in the printer.
If it is in a dusty environment it helps to keep the printer covered when not in use - you can buy plastic covers for this or any large plastic will do but does not look as aesthetically pleasing.
Hope this has helped.

Tip

Steps to clear paper jam.

Please perform the below steps.

1. Switch off the printer and disconnect the power supply. Allow any residual charge inside the all-in-one printer to dissipate before putting your hands or any metal tools inside the chassis.

2.
Pin down the exact location of the jam. The 3 hot spots for a jam are before a sheet completely leaves the paper tray, anywhere between the feed tray and print carriage or between the print carriage and output tray.

3.
Take off the front paper tray if the sheet jammed while still in the front area of the printer. If here, you should be able to see most of the paper.

4.
Pull the sheet with both hands and steady pressure. Do not tug as you might rip the paper, leaving a piece deeper inside the machine.

5.
Open the back panel to reach paper jammed between the feed-tray area and print carriage. Carefully remove the jammed paper.

6.
Use the carriage access door to get at a jam further inside the printer. You may need to remove the print carriage to get to the jam.

7.
Replace all parts and return any access panels to their closed and locked positions. Plug your printer back in and flip the power switch.

Paper jam

Check for obstructions inside the tray. Use a flashlight to view the mechanism inside the tray to make sure that nothing blocks the paper from engaging with the rollers. Even small pieces of paper can cause paper feed issues. Examine the condition of the paper, and then replace any ripped, dusty, curled, wrinkled, or bent paper. Make sure that all the paper in the stack is the same size and type. Never load mixed types of paper in the tray. The product can only process one type of paper at a time.

THE PRINTER IS NOT FEEDING, 5 YELLOW LIGHT IS FLASING

Sounds like a paper jam. Posibly from a ripped peice of paper stuck somewhere inside. Also disconnect it, tip it over and shake it in case a pen or paper clips fell inside the feed end. My kids have done that to me before.

The paper seems to have got jammed up and after I did try to get it out it still seems to say paper jam

Often times after forcing a piece of jammed paper to come out, it can begin to tear and rip. It's possible that a small fragment of paper is still inside the printer, and most likely blocking a jam sensor along the paper path. My recommendation is to take a piece of heavier card stock paper and manually feed it through the machine, attempting to clear out any debris that may have become lodged inside the paper path.
