If you do not have the disk you must download the software from Internet, follow instructions below, Click here:Official Lexmark Drivers and Software
A web page will open, follow instructions, select model, select operative system etc., and click on download .
Chose to download the file in my documents when asked.
After downloading, find the file,double click on the file ,then if
you get in troubles, follow
the instructions below to reset and reinstall drivers:
Unplug printer USB.
Go to control panel >> installed printers in Windows and remove (delete ) any installed printer from printer list.
Download driver from website, or use the disk and run the install file.
Follow driver installation wizard.
Plug back printer when prompted from installation wizard.
Note:some
printerdoes not work on Vista, if you do not find any driver download
for Vista on your model page, that means your model is not Vista
compatible.

You don't have to manually set the printer to receive faxes. Your printer will automatically receive a fax when it recognizes a fax tone/signal/transmission. Just as long as the fax settings are correctly configured and the printer is connected to a working phone/fax line.
The phone line could possibly be in the wrong jack, although I doubt that is the case,. There is usually a switch on the machine somewhere to tell the machine how to answer - it may be on the bottom or side - meaning not necessarily on the back...
To be sure,. try downloading the owners manual form the company web site an read the users operating instructions.. there you will find the details of operation for the product.
Make sure the phone cable behind the printer is plugged in to the Line Port and not the Phone Port of the printer. Double-check on the assigned Fax Name and the Fax Number. Do you have distinctive ring feature from your Virgin phone service? If you have, make sure the Ring Pattern set in the printer is the same as the distinctive ring feature. If not, set the Ring Pattern to any. If this doesn't help, I strongly advise you to contact Lexmark Technical Support for further assistance.

you can take out the white box where the black antenna is behind the printer. It's the wireless network adapter of the printer. It might be hard but it can be pulled out off the printer. Hope this helps.
I was able to fix the problem with my lexmark X6575, activating the printer from the desktop icon and to use the fax, utilizing the utility tools provided by your expert. Lexmark could not provide the solution, and I am still waiting for them to tell me what the proiblem was. Your expert found the solution very fast.
