Question about JVC AV-56WP30 56" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Bad Picture The picture is showing doubles, with a reddish outline. It's definately with the TV, as I tried watching a DVD, and it did the same thing. It also reflected the same picture distortion when I watched DVR.

You need to replace the convergence output IC's. I believe they are STK392-110's and there are ususally resistors that are opened due to faulty IC's. The IC's are located on a board behind the large speaker grill on front. There are 6 screws to remove to access the IC's. 4 in the back and 2 small screws behind the litte door on the front.

Hitachi 46F500 TV has red and blurry picture.. what to do?

If this problem has been gradually getting worse, it is most likely to your picture tubes getting weak, and it is time to replace the set I'm afraid.
If the red is smearing off to the side of reddish objects in the picture it is most definately the tubes.

Hi!! my sony projection tv kp-51ws500 shows double picture. there is reddish outline & its out of focus. i need help to reapir this. please advise. thanks

This sounds like a convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Shops usually charge between $200-$400

Red outlines around, and zigzagging thru the picture.

If you were to put an all white image on the screen, would there be evidence of this red color in the picture? If so, its likely that the light engine has gone bad. One or more of the LCD panels inside has been damaged by the heat from the lamp. This is an expensive part to replace. It never hurts to contact the manufacturer for assistance.

Picture turns into looking like a reverse negative

Often you will get a bluish or reddish looking picture if your wires from your cable box/satellite or DVD player are inexpensive RCA type video cables. Try using a nice set of component cables or HDMI cable from your sources to your TV. If this is your setup, try this first...its the most inexpensive first option.
