Question about Digital Cameras

1 Answer

My Fuji A210 has slowly stop functioning. It will display pictures but in the photo mode it will open the lens and then turn off. I found that if I apply an external voltage to the voltage jack on the outside of the camera and I increase the voltage from 3V to 3.6V this camera works great. Just as it did when new. It seems to me that something in the camera has increased in resistance to cause the internal logic to not function. arossi10@yahoo.com

Hello, it looks like you need a new battery. Check Walmart nearby for one, if possible, or check the manufacturer's website for the number and then go search www.pricegabber.com for a replacement. Try to keep battery charged, not leaving it depleted and sitting in camera. Good Luck!

Why Fuji film digital camera cannot put date on PC screen

The pics actually have the date and a lot of other information stored with them. If you right click the pic and choose properties, you'll get some of the info. If you open the pic in a photo editing program, you can get the shutter speed, lens opening, etc. Also, in a photo editing program like Photoshop Elements, you can add the date to the pic as text.

Try the video function.
If this works fine then it is most probably the shutter sticking.
To confirm the shutter is sticking turn the camera on, put the zoom to full optical and turn it to face you so you can see into the lens. Watch the inner part of the lens when you take a picture. You should see the shutter fire across the lens. Lines on pictures or over exposed pictures are caused by gaps in the shutter or the shutter failing to fire altogether.
Moisture residue on the shutter leafs is the common cause for this problem.
Some people on here have their own views about what causes lines on photo's. Someone even said digital cameras do not have a shutter and problems were due to software issues....
I have dealt with 100's of different models, including Fuji's E900 and always have found moisture residue to be the cause.

My camera displays a "white screen" when i take photos "outdoors" or during daytime outside

Are you sure that you are in full "auto" mode when you are taking your pictures? Make sure that the mode selector is set to the first red camera (without the M) right next to the little blue arrow.

If you already are in full auto, a stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open).

To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see the following for further info and a simple fix that may help:

http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2009/05/simple-fix-for-stuck-shutter.html

Your camera is not capable of taking 15 second exposures. Instead try putting it in manual mode, turn off the flash, take it in a darkened room, take the picture, and open the battery door while the red and yellow lights are blinking. Give it several tries, but note that the chances may be very slim for success as the shutter symptoms suggest that it is stuck open.

Lens error

This is probably THE most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

I have a Fuji FinePix A210 and I want to get a clear photo of a quarter of a U. S. quarter. Is there a way to do that with the camera I have or do I need a different camera?

Hi - You can download the manual by clicking the link underlined in blue below:

FinePix A210

Select the macro mode on page 27:

For best results use a tripod & bright daylight if possible.

Focus error

When that problem has happen to my Fuji A210 is because the slider that cover the lense has not gone all the way to the right ! I usually move the slider strongly 2 o 3 times to the left and to the right, and then turn the camera on. Fortunately, that trick has worked for me, so I hope it also works for you !!!
