Re: sent phone back for repair under waranty they said
There is a small circle sticker place in the mainboard on the back of the phones if they are red in color then that means it came in contact with liquid, sweat or water of some kind. so just take the phone to an independent repair store and have it service.

The best treatment for a liquid damaged cell phone is to remove the battery and dry the phone out. We take these devices for granted and use them a lot without thinking anything should go wrong. They are so inexpensive that electronic manufacturers would rather just sell you another one every time the lens is scratched. First back up all the data if the unit powers back on. Then either take the phone apart if you have some electronics experience, or take the phone to a service center and hope the technician can salvage your phone. Sprint is one carrier that still has walk in service. The techs are busy (and under paid). If you think the cost for repairs is too much, shop for a replacement.
Samsung warranty does not cover water or physical damage, you need to check if the phone was sent to a Samsung authorized service centre, if it was not then you need to call samsung.2ndly if the handset was assessed by samsung service center , and your adement that it was not water damage then you can contact another samsung service centre. or my all rights you can contact DFT
Unscrew the phone, Get a Methylated spirit and a brush, Bring out the board of the phone and use the methylated spirit to brush off remaining water on phone. Keep under heat to dry off, After board is dried, fix it back and screw back phone.
Am sure after doing this phone will work well. But if phone still doesn't work ,that means water has damage some component inside the phone. You will need to consult a phone technician for assistance. Take care.
The most basic way to check for water damage is to open the back cover and take the battery out. Either on the battery itself or on the phone under the battery there should be a white square or circle. This is called the LDI (liquid damage indicator), if this is still white then there is no water damage. But if this is red or pink there is water damage.
water seems to damage the phone, but it can be repaired at a service centre but wud cost a bit, water damage is not covered under warranty. u may also try keeping ur phone in sunlight before giving t for repair....it helps.
The red dot does indicate that the phone got some form of liquid in it. Sometimes parents give toddlers their phones and they bite on them thus getting saliva in the phone which is a form
of liquid. I hope this wasn't the case.
