When typing 3(radical symbol)10ab * 4(radical symbol)14ab ... then press enter it comes out to a decimal. How do I enter the equation into calculator to show the answer as a radical?

I am afraid you cannot do that with the TI83/84 Plus SE. The newer OS allows you to get results expressed as fractions, but not radicals. Sorry.

Your question seems to imply that you can do algebra with this calculator but that is impossible, unless you stored numerical values in variables a and b. In that case that is not doing algebra.

Can the ti 68 do fractions

My Ti 83 does fractions (once you go into "math" then "fraction>" it converts a decimal to a fraction) And the Ti86 came out a year after the TI83, so that's going to be a yes.

I don't know how to use fractions

Enter any fraction as a division problem and your TI 83 will evaluate it as a fraction.

For instance, 3/4 = three fourths.

I JUST GOT MY ti-8today and don't know how to use it

To do fractions, input like this:
(1/3)+(4/9)
Granted the answer is a decimal... But you should be able to convert that to a fraction using what you've learned in math class.

PI sign: Just press [2nd]and then[^]. And voila, instant π! Exponent:enter more complicated expressions involving exponents using parentheses and the negative sign.

I am trying to see how do I insert a fraction on to the TI83 on a problem such as 58 2/3*18 1/2*3/4 divided by 27?

You do it with lots of parentheses.

Type ((58+2/3)*(18+1/2)*(3/4))/27
Then press MATH button then 1 to get the frac. Then press ENTER. You should get 814/27.

Yes, the Ti nspire not only functions as a ti83 but, also operate w/ nice advance math software that any teacher would envey. It comes with the ti83 keypad plus software and great instructions to help the instructor at all levels of math learning. I don't know any better and it is a beautiful plan that ti has set up.
