NEED TO FIND OUT BATTERY SIZE

I BOUGHT MY GRAND DAUGHTER A TAG READING SYSTEM FOR CHRISTMAS. I HAVE LOOKED ALL OVER THE BOX FOR THE BATTERY SIZE AND HOW MANY IT TAKES. I CAN NOT FIND THIS INFORMATION WITH OUT OPENING THE BOX. NOTHING IS WORSE THAN OPENING A GIFT AND NOT BEING ABLE TO USE IT ON CHRISTMAS MORNING. THANK YOU.

Im doing an experiment on magnetism.i need to find out how the distance of a magnet affects the size of its magnetic field

How about hanging the magnet from a scale. I am thinking of the one in my tackle box that weighs fish. Another way would be to place the iron on a scale and lower the magnet and see how much lighter the scale reads at various distances.

I just want to be able to enlarge my print size

  • Simply press and hold down the "control" key, while pressing the "plus sign" key. Be sure to keep the "control key" depressed while you press the "plus sign" key. Each repetition will enlarge the text. This can make reading small text SO much easier!
  • To return the text back to its original size (being polite to the next user), simply press, and hold down the "control" key and the "minus sign" key. Each repetition will decrease the text size

  • Log on to your computer and open the document you want to print. Click on the "Print Preview" button on the toolbar.
  • 2 Click on the "File" menu and choose "Print Preview" from the drop-down list if the "Print Preview" button is not available. The "Print Preview" function will show you exactly what the finished print will look like.
  • 3 Click the "Close" button to close the Print Preview window, then highlight the entire document and click on the "Format" menu. Choose "Font" from the drop-down list and change the font.
  • 4 Click the "Print Preview" button again to see the finished print. Continue to adjust the font size until the print looks good

I am a tech for Washington County School District, the school bought several netbooks with windows 7 starter, a really useless version of windows. I thought I would try to get it to work with ubuntu...

    Glad to help YOU!

Congratulations for switching to UBUNTU! It's a great operating system. You will not regret your decision.
Unfortunately WINE has limited "power" and some Windows applications will give you ERRORS or will not run at all. For a better "bridge" between LINUX SYSTEM (UBUNTU, in your case) and the Windows applications I'd suggest you to find/buy CROSSOVER. Here you have the info about HOW TO.

As for the Zombie process - it's just a "leftover" of an application running. Nothing serious. Read here.

    GOOD LUCK!

    How to increase Virtual Memory?

    In Windows XP
1.Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2.Click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System.
3.On the Advanced tab, under Performance, click Settings.
4.On the Advanced tab, under Virtual memory, click Change.
5.Under Drive [Volume Label], click the drive that contains the paging file that you want to change.
6.Under Paging file size for selected drive, click to Custom size check box. You can enter the amount of memory you would like to reserve for Virtual memory by entering the initial and maximum size.
    7.Click Set
When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.
Special Note: You should choose the same amount for the initial size and maximum size. This will Stop your CPU from constantly changing the paging file.

HOT TIP: To stop your CPU from constantly changing the paging file, set the initial and maximum size to the same value. For example, 500 and 500. The value should be at least 1.5 times more than your physical RAM. If your computer has 512MB of RAM increase the virtual memory paging file to 1.5*512= 768

    In Vista

    1. Click Start button Picture of the Start button
    2. Click Control Panel
    3. Choose System and Maintenance and then click System.
    4. In the left pane, click Advanced system settings.
5.On the Advanced tab, under Performance, click Settings.
    6. Click the Advanced tab, and then, under Virtual memory, choose Change.
    7. Click Custom to change the Initial size (MB) and Maximum size. See the hot tip above.

    virtualmemoryset.png

Remember to choose the drive you would like to use to increase the virtual memory. In most cases it usually your C: Drive. You can set the initial size and maximum size after clicking the Custom size check box.Remember its better to keep the Virtual memory values the same.

Also having enough available space is absolutely necessary for your virtual memory and RAM to function properly.

Leapster 2 will shut off right after the "important" screen

Just called Leap Frog and apparently this is a common problem (defective screen). As long as it was purchased within a year they will replace it for free. They ask you when and where you bought it. (You have to pay to send the broken one back it was like $5). Hope this helps.

Distorted Dog in Dogz 5 Vista

I had the exact same problem and I searched everywhere on the net to try and find a problem with no avail. Then I thought of something and it fixed it!

Change your screen resolution to 1024x768

    That's what fixed mine.

You can go higher. The maximum size I can get mine to before it gets distorted is 1360x768.

This is on Vista by the way.

    I hope this helps.

I have a leap frog(little leaps) learning system for my daughter. I had to purchase a new DVD player and I seem to forget how to get the code for the system to work. I bought a Toshiba 1080 and have...

We have one too.. Check out the product manual at:
    http://www.leapfrog.com/etc/medialib/leapfrog/parent_guides/pg_infanttoddler.Par.16416.File.tmp/10210_LittleLeaps_SetUpGuidepdf.pdf

The Toshiba quick setup number (in the US) appears to be '02'. If that doesn't work, try going through all of the Toshiba numbers one at a time, which are

Yep - fixed it already. Went to other blogs and found another setting to change in the same dogz.ini file.

Have to change to read the following:

    [Engine.Direct3D]
    AllowFullscreenAntiAlias=0

If you have the value '1' change it to '0'

My daughter has restored her faith in my computer savvy as a result! Win-win.

Ubisoft needs to update their support.

    Photoshop 7 Croping

I use photoshop 10 but i believe there is not much difference in cropping. What you do is select your crop tool, with it selected enter your dimensions in the W and H text boxes at the top. In the box you would type in the corresponding box; "5in" or "7in" without the quotes. When you have entered your dimensions your crop tool will draw a shaded box as you drag it on the workspace that will be presized to your entered dimensions.
    Hope this helps
