Question about QuarkXPress 6.0 for Mac

1 Answer

My hp printer is not showing up as a choice of printers

I updated operating systems Mac OS X 10.5.4 this year. I am attempting to print a document created in Quark for the first time since then and my hp printer that I print to from all Adobe Creative Suite and other applications is not available to me. I have updated the printer drivr as suggested but it has made no difference. Where in Quark do I add this printer to make it available as a choice.

You have to go to Utilites drop down menu while your quark file is open and go to PPD manager and add that printer. Quark is the only one that you have to do this way. All other programs will do it automatically when you load the printer in your PPD.

HP Photosmart C3180 All-in-One printer, Scanner, Copier will not scan with Mac OS 10.4. The button flashes for a few seconds, then stops and nothing happens. No image appears on my computer screen.

All lot of those printers came with two separate driver's disc. Make sure that you are installing the correct for the mac and not windows. If you are you can go to the hp website and do a search on there website for the driver for mac operating system.

I HAVE MAC BOOK WITH OS 10.5.8 I GOT HP OFFICEJET L7500 IT HAS NO DRIVERS FOR MAC

From HP driver site,

"Many drivers for HP products are built into the Mac OS X operating systems, or are available through Apple Updates. You can use these drivers by simply connecting the product and adding the product to the printer list. If you installed the product in this way, you received the print driver, fax driver (if applicable), and the HP Utility print management software"

My HP 6940 will not print envelpes. They feed part way through and stop. Doesn't even begin to print. Other documents print fine.

sdc323, first you want to make sure you have the correct drivers. Check here http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_lang=en&h_cc=us&cc=us&h_page=hpcom&lang=en&h_client=S-A-R163-1&h_pagetype=s-002&h_query=HP+6940&submit.x=3&submit.y=10. Normally you will have to uninstall the old drivers completely ...then reinstall the correct or updated drivers. Also, sometimes it depends on what program you are using to print the envelope (MS Word or Avery Design Pro, etc). What type of computer Operating system (Win XP,Vista, or Mac OS X) are you using? And what program are you using to print it? For a quick try at making it work, when the printer stops part way through, try pressing the resume (or enter) button. On occasion that will finish the print job.

Cannot print from Apple MacBook to Canon MX310

First, check your USB printer connection to your Macbook from your Pixma MX310 printer.

If the USB cable is securely seated, make sure you have installed the updated drivers for your version of Mac OS X. Here is the Link:
Canon Pixma MX 310 Drivers for Mac OS X (v10.6/10.5 and earlier).

If you have already updated your printer drivers to the most current Canon Pixma update for your version of Mac OS X, then click on the Apple menu icon, located in the upper left corner of your screen and select System Preferences.

• From System Preferences, select Print & Fax.
• Within the Print tab, make sure you can see your Canon listed in that window.

If you can, proceed to perform a test print on any document you have on your desktop or folder of choice. If this does not help, from within the Print tab, select the Canon and press the "-" Minus button and remove that printer.
• Once it is removed, now click the "+" button
and re-add your printer.
• Once it has been added, attempt to test print again.

This should help get your printer back to printing again.

Regards,

Hp officejet 6110xi all in one

I did a search of your product's help pages on HP.com but didn't come up with an exact match for your error message relevant to an Apple Mac OS X. Before offering suggestions, let me make sure I understand the problem.

You have a Word document open on your Mac and you want to insert an image into the document that's on the scanner.

I'm actually not clear as to whether you successfully scanned an image in the first place. If you did scan the image, where did you store it to? Have you tried scanning the image and saving it to your computer? If you can do this successfully, try inserting the image into your Word document from the location on your computer.

If you tried to scan an image and got the error message, then there is a communication problem between your Mac and the printer. Since you can print, the cable connection must be good. If the error message is suggesting that you reinstall the drivers, you can find the instructions for how to do this at the following web page at HP.com:

Installing and Uninstalling Printer Software on your Mac

You may or may not have your original software disc that came with the printer. If you don't or if you need an updated print driver, you can download that software from the following web page, assuming you are running Mac OS X:

Mac OS X Printer Software and Driver Downloads

Occasionally, you can solve errors by installing print drivers that are more recent than those you originally installed when you first got your printer. That's the benefit of downloading the latest drivers from HP.

On the off change you are using Mac OS 9, here's the relevant software download page (the version of the Mac operating system matters):

Mac OS 9 Printer Software and Driver Downloads

If all you want to do is to insert an image into a Word document, you shouldn't need Adobe Photoshop or any other expensive software application. You aren't trying to do any fancy editing of the graphic, just insert a pre-existing image into a document.

I hope some of the above suggestions help. Post back your results and good luck.
