Question about HP PSC 1510 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Black cartridge "incompatible"

Printer error message states that the black cartridge installed a week ago is "incompatible" with my HP PSC 1510 all-in-one printer. Oddly enough, the printer has been printing with no problem this morning until about 30 minutes ago, when it suddenly sent this error message.
I have taken out the 92 cartridge a couple of times, wiped it off and put it back in. Doesn't correct the problem. Have verified that it is indeed a 92 cartridge, which is specified for this printer.
What next?

I have the same problem. I changed the black cartridge and got the "incompatible" message, switched back to the old cartridge, printed one page, then got the same message. Then I took out and reinserted the new cartridge several times and didn't get the error message. The printer printed a test page and then one other page and then returned to the error message.
It doesn't sound like a cartridge problem. Has anyone had success replacing the cartridge with a new one?

Nowadays, the cartridges have a microchip installed to assure you are not using "unauthorized" ink. Maybe the chip is defective. try replacing it with another cartridge and take that one back to the store for an exchange.

good luck

Hello, My HP PSC 1510 doesnt works because is written incopatible cartridge. I tried to clean contacts and so on but it still doesnt work. what to do?

Incompatible cartridge shows that it believes that the ink cartridge installed in not compatible with this printer. It means that the printer can't use the cartridge that is installed. You need to return the cartridge and get the one that is made for your exact printer.

Just install a new black ink cartridge on my hp psc 1510 all-in-one printer and receive the following error messages. Firstly (incorrect ink Cartridge on the right) after restarting the printer, I now...

HP are notorious for this sort of error reporting, not very helpful at all.

On your first point; Is the cartridge an original HP cartridge? If it is then remove it and re insert it pushing it home firmly. If not then either get a cartridge from a reputable clone supplier or use a genuine HP one.

Next point; Inspect the paper route minutely for debris and identify and clean the paper switch, which is a tiny micro-switch and can become jammed closed just with paper dust.
