Leading from this - I then need to take my old fridge 15 mins down the road. Can I simply plug-drive-replug in and use straight away or does it have to be switched off for a period of time and same again when turning it back on?

    Thanks again

Call 800-ge-cares for specifics, but generally you can use it right away. The unit should pull down to temp in under a half an hour. If you are trading out a working refrigerator do a direct transfer and the cold food will help it pull down. Make sure the new one works before getting rid of the old. Delivery can be brutal and show no signs of damage.

If you can transport the old one standing up. If you are going to put it on a pick or trailer have the unit front facing away from the wind so you don't get road debris hitting it, I recommend you using the box off the new as a cover. Make sure the doors are secured with a tie down strap to prevent them from opening during transport. If you do have to lay it down you want let it sit for a while to let the oil return to the compressor.

How do I find step by step Instructions for installing a nitrous kit in a HEMI and SRT8 6.4 Liter Dodge Charger?

best people are speed shops and engineering shops that specialize in high performance engines. Best advice--- talk a lot and get real advice because if you get it wrong you will be looking at real serious damage to the engine and car.
The engine will have to be specifically built to handle the nitro addition, the nitro should only be used at high rpms and for short periods ( seconds)
Do not believe what you see in the movies as that is not what it is all about.

Why is Hotpoint RLA64T Fridge freezing up after new thermostat fitted?

Make sure that the temp probe from the thermostat is located exactly where the old one was. If it had a plastic sleeve on the old one, the new one will need that sleeve. You shouldn't need to calibrate the control if it is the one specified for this model. If it was a generic replacement then possibly it could need some adjustment.

    Calculator calculated (solving for FV) 5 N, 10 I/YR, -2000 PMT, FV= 10,168.06 But the answer should be 12,210.20 Help? :(

This is happening because your calculator is converting the 10% interest figure into a monthly amount (ie 0.833333%), but it isn't changing the number of periods or the periodic payment into monthly equivalents. In both cases, it is assuming that payments are made at the end of each period.

So the figure of 10,168.06 is arrived at as follows:
    end of period 1: 2,000.00
    end of period 2: 2,000 x 1.00833333 + 2,000 = 4,016.67
    end of period 3: 4,016.67 x 1.00833333 + 2,000 = 6,050.14
    end of period 4: 6,050.14 x 1.00833333 + 2,000 = 8,100.56
    end of period 5: 8,100.56 x 1.00833333 + 2,000 = 10,168.06

whereas the figure of 12,210.20 is arrived at as follows:
    end of period 1: 2,000.00
    end of period 2: 2,000 x 1.1 + 2,000 = 4,200.00
    end of period 3: 4,200 x 1.1 + 2,000 = 6,620.00
    end of period 4: 6,620 x 1.1 + 2,000 = 9,282.00
    end of period 5: 9,282 x 1.1 + 2,000 = 12,210.20

You will need to find out from your user manual how to stop this from happening, so that all the numbers remain as annual figures. It will involve setting the number of payments per year [P/YR] to 1 instead of 12.

How do we install a burner on a fireplace?

Thinking of adding a fireplace or wood stove to your home? If so, proper installation and maintenance is absolutely critical to ensuring the fire stays inside your freestanding fireplace or wood stove and doesn't venture outside of it.

If your manufactured home already has a fireplace or wood stove, it's a good idea to go look over these safety guidelines to confirm that it was installed correctly. If you plan to install a fireplace or wood stove, follow these safety guidelines carefully.

First, don't try to tackle this project yourself. While installation manuals usually provide all the instructions necessary for a manufactured home owner to install a wood-burning fireplace or wood stove, the consequences of a mistake are so disastrous, it's a task best left to experts.

It's a good idea to first check with your insurance company for their guidelines before installing these items. Your insurance policy may not cover damages if a fireplace or wood stove was not professionally installed. Plus, the manufacturer's warranty on the fireplace or wood stove may not apply unless the unit is installed by a professional.

    Hope helps.

Freezer will not come on It is at our cottage and last week end when we arrived it also wasn't on but when I turned the control higher it came on and froze the food very well. We left 5 days ago and just...

What is the temperature in the cabin when it isn't occupied??
If the temperature in cabin drops to or below 55 degrees, then the thermostat that controls the machine, being in the fresh food compartment will not cycle the machine.
If you warm up the cabin for a decent period of time, and it fails to run, you will need to replace the main cold control.
Without the approx. age, the style of the machine, top, bottom or SXS style and where the temperature controls are located. Both in Fresh food compartment, one each in freezer and fresh food area, this is the best I can give you.
Please, in the future, give as many details about what machine we are working on to give you the best possible answers. Jack
P.S. is it possible someone shut off the power that runs the machine when you left ???
