Hp 1200 series..the scanner does not seem to be iniatialized...it used to work.the computer says the program is installed properly,and I can print ok it wont scan

Wait until print or copy jobs are complete before scanning. If a print or copy job was sent before trying to scan, the scan job might still be in the queue. Check the control panel light pattern to determine the printer’s status. Initiate a PC copy with the HP LaserJet 1220 software. Once the copy is complete, attempt another scan using the HP LaserJet 1220 scanning software to free up the port and allow for full bi-directional functionality.
Are there other devices running on the computer? The HP LaserJet 1220 product cannot share a USB or parallel port. If a sound card, external hard drive, or network switchbox is connected to the same port as the HP LaserJet 1220, the other device might be interfering. To connect and use the HP LaserJet 1220, disconnect the other device or use two ports on the computer. Another interface card might need to be added. Hewlett-Packard strongly recommends an ECP parallel interface card. See the documentation that came with the computer for information regarding resolving device conflicts or installing an additional parallel interface card.
Is the software installed on a Windows 2000 system? The HP LaserJet 1220 series product or a third-party TWAIN compliant software application may have difficulty scanning on a PC running Windows 2000, Service Pack 2. Change the port mode on the parallel port and verify that the port is enabled to use any interrupt request assigned to the port. See the operating system documentation or support for assistance changing the port mode. Perform the following to resolve communication issues in Windows 2000.

  1. Right-click the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop.
  2. Left-click Properties from the drop down menu.
  3. Select the Hardware tab.
  4. Click once on Device Manager and then click the "+ " symbol next to Ports.
  5. Right-click lpt1 and select Properties from the drop down menu.
  6. Click Port Settings and then select Bi-directional Support .
  7. Select any interrupt assigned to the port and click OK .

    CAUTION:

    To prevent damage, unplug the printer before checking the copier/scanner connection.

    To verify that the copier/scanner is installed, press the Go
    button to print a configuration page. In the middle right portion of
    the report, a block titled “Copy Settings�? will indicate whether or
    not the copier/scanner is currently installed. If the block is not
    there, unplug the printer and plug it back in.
    If unplugging and re-plugging the printer does not work, make sure that the copier/scanner is properly connected to the printer.

Disconnect the printer form the computer then do a copy.
success? proceed->

download updated software from manufacturers website
then uninstall reboot re-install software

Test teh usb cable, eventually try a replacement one.

If the scanner does not work you usually fix the problem reinstalling system software from printer cd.

    HP 1200 has no scanner, let me know if for scanner you mean the card reader, or you have a different scanner, in this case let me know the scanner model.

I have installed Windows 7 and my hp laserjet 1200 series will not print on a command from the computer. I have installed the program and reinstalled the program. During the installation I'm told to check...


Click Here for the proper driver for your hp 1200 and the windows 7 operating system, I'm assuming you have the 32 bit version but if you have the 64 bit version go back one screen and click the windows 7 64 bit driver. I also recommend you stick with pcl 5 as opposed to 6 as 6 has been known to be quite a bit wiggy...If this helps you out Please mark this a FixYa!!

Hp scanjet 4600 . I need the instructions on how to properly install the hp scanjet drivers from the internet. I can't seem to get it to work correctly.


Try installing the driver after this steps


1. Start -> Click Run

2. Enter msconfig and click ok

3. Click Startup tab

4. Uncheck program that you don't want to startup

You can disable programs that you don't want automatically load when you start your computer. By disabling these programs will help your computer startup faster.

5. Click Ok and restart
Now you should notice that your computer startup faster.

Mustek 1200 ub plus scanner will not work on xp it wont even let me install software


ok first off any time you install a software or program if you have a virus prot, firewall and popup software on your computer you need to disable it first ok. also you can also do a program compatibility test to see whether or not the program will be compatable to run on your computer if it doesnt then you will have to go to a tech ask him what you need to do to make compatible you might have to download a driver and update everything for it to work, because everything you install as in hardware like that needs a specific driver ok.

Hp psc 1100/1200 all-in-one does not scan with vista..


I had the same problem. Click Start, Windows Photo Gallery, from that screen, you can select import from scanner. The 1200 series printer should be a choice to select. You are then able to preview the image or document, then press scan. I found this out through the HP support website.
