I have the original "Installation & Operation Instructions" for the W500 wireless headphone system.
Send me your e-mail address and I forward a scanned copy if you want so.

I read the answers previously provided and they were most helpful. I would add that there are three screws on the on off side that can be removed without pulling the ear cushion off as one other person has noted here. The screws require a small phillips, and are placed in triangular fashion with the base about one inch up from the bottom. You can buy a replacement battery online athttp://www.batterycanada.com/w500.asp That link leads to a replacement battery that you must connect you old batteries connector, so do not throw it away yet. I sent an email to find out if I can avoid rewiring the old connector by getting a couple from batteriesplus.com Somebody else on this board mentioned having done that.

I listed a Canadian firm for the replacement battery above, but it costs $18 plus there. I fpi d another supplier witha price of just under six bucks here:http://www.public-safety.com/product_inf...

TomBahama, Thank you for the info. Unfortunately this info is too late for me since I discarded the headset some time ago.

I have had these headphones for about 12 years now, and have had to replace the batteries twice. (Once right now, hence finding this blog)
1st: pull off the speaker cover on the "on\off" speaker carefully. It is tucked in around the rim and can be carefully pulled out and worked around.
2nd: three phillips screws need to be loosened.
3rd: unplug the battery.
4th: I was told by 'Batteries Plus' (a US battery franchise) that these batteries with this plug aren't being manufactured anymore, but they made one for me. They are online: batteriesplus.com

There is no need to remove cushion. Just locate screws by going inside the cups and moving the cover to the outward direction. It seems like you're getting yourself an instruction manual. Good Luck. All I did on mine was charge the battery and I was tuned out!I found them at Goodwill! dnbbgy

The headphones will automatically charge wirelessly when placed in the cradle that should have come with the package. To make sure the headphones are placed correctly, a red light should illuminate letting you know they are being charged and are properly placed.
