MP3 player refuses to remove deleted songs

Don't know why it doubled loaded them but I noticed the reset on the side and thought it was worth a try. Hit reset and it cleared all the songs from the list that I had deleted.

My songs were deleted, then my screen turned black.

if you're using limewire to get songs you probably downloaded a corrupted file in which case the best you can do is back up the songs you know arent corrupted and then format the device

Think i have broken my archos 605

Go to the archos website on your PC and download the latest firmware. Once you have the firmware downloaded to your desktop, connect your archos to the PC with your usb cable.
The computer should recognise the archos as an external drive.
Open the archos drive on your desktop and drag the new firmware into the window. The computer will copy the new firmware onto the Archos drive.
DO a safe disconnect from your pc and restart your archos. The new frimware should start to load itself on your Archos when it powers up. You will need to reconnect the usb cable for the downlaod to start running. Once it is finished it will restart itself again. You will probably need to recalibrate your touch screen interface as well. You need to use the buttons on the side of the unit to scroll through the menu to get to the "settings" screen, and then the "display" screen. Choose "calibrate touchscreen" and follow the instructions.

I hope this helped.

Bad Song caused screen to go blank!

move the button HOLD switch ON,to see orange.Hold down REC button and with the REc button holding down, connect the player to the computer.this is Recovery Mode.If your computer recougnize your plaer like 16mbFormat,everything is ok,in this case do as i say in the following text.(if it doesn't been recougnized by the computer...i can't help you)Go to START-PROGRAMS-ACCESORIES-NOTEPAD.IN the new text notepad,do not write anything,go to file-save as.In the box "Save as type" select "all files" and in the box "file name" write :sansa.fmt
Save the notepad file on desktop and copy it in your "16mbFormat"sansa player in recovery mode.16mbFormat is the name of your player in recovery mode wich you will find in My computer.Do not copy anything at music or other files.after that disconect your player and enjoy.this is FORMAT in Recovery MOde.

Problem with Onyx MP3 player

I had the same problem -- It will only play the first 10 seconds of the song and then it changes to something else --

so am trying this (below) that I found on their site...

Go to the "My Computer" section of your computer. In there you will find a section called "devices with removable storage"
Locate the drive created by the unit, generally just called Removable Disk, with a letter in Parenthesis. Drive letters vary depending on your system configuration
Open the drive by either double left clicking on the drive itself, or by right clicking, and left clicking on the open option on the menu
Locate the music stored on your computer. Generally this is stored in the "My Music" folder of your computer. NOTE: if you are unable to locate the music on your computer, click on start, search, files and folders, then search for *.MP3, *.WMA
Once you have located the song files, you can right click on the song itself, and select "copy". Open the removable disk drive, right click on in the empty space, and select Paste. This will transfer the song on to your MP3 player
Repeat step 7 for as many songs as you want to copy on to the unit.

Not able to delete the songs

Sure. Just plug it in. Go to "My computer" RIGHT click on the sansa m240 icon and choose FORMAT. Let me know if this worked. (and don't forget to rate my solution). Best, D.

File error

Try a reset and see if it corrects itself. hit menu, settings, scroll to reset all, select yes. This won't delete any files, but it should clear up the song transfer problem. If that doesn't work you may have to reformat the device which will erase all data on it. But then you can start fresh again.

How do i delete pics from my sandisc sansa e260.

what you need to do is this. i cant help you if you have a mac but i can help you if you have a pc. for pcs, you need to plug in your player.once its connected, double click "my computer".in it, the player should have registered and their should be an icon that says "sandisk sansa e260" ( or something like that, i couldnt exsactly tell you considering my player is completely busted at the moment.)then you should see a bunch of files.the files will include album art, songs, and folders for videos or the pictures folder you can access your pictures, and right click on the files you wish to delte, and simply just...hit delete.
