Question about Zebra LP 2844 Thermal Printer
I purchased this used printer eight months ago and struggled to get it working. It finally kicked into gear and ran like a champ for several months. I then bought a new computer and struggled for days before I could get it running again. I then physically moved the computer from one room to another and had to unplug everything, and when Zebra was plugged back in, the printer refused to cooperate. Hours were invested. Then finally it mysteriously came back on line.
Latest problem - I unplugged it to move the computer from one table to another - plugged everything back in. And that was the last breathe for this Zebra. Nothing. Powers up - that's it. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. Turned things on and off in a variety of interesting sequences. Nothing. Nada. Zero. Re-installed driver. It was power and nothing more.
I think there is something wrong with the printer. Am I right or am I wrong?
There is probably nothing wrong with the printer. I would suggest that if you can, get a standard Parallel cable and use that instead of a USB cable. Use the wide Centronics connector on the back of your printer. Make sure that you then select the parallel port in your printer driver (LPT1:) Your problems will then disappear. Your problem is caused by your pc re-assigning different USB virtual port numbers. I posted another solution which addresses that problem

My guess. You are right. Get another. It is playing with your mind. :-)
