All depends on how much you use your Machine. IE do you have 15+ differant things open at once? Also depends on how many Ram Slots are on the board (Usually 2) So if you want a hassle free PC without any freezing windows, I'd say put 2GB in Max if you intend to run alot of programs altogether that is. Installing more the 2GB of Ram in a PC is pretty much a waste of money, as you won't see much of an improvement in performance.

Can I add more RAM to my Averatec All-In=One A2?

Hey Nella Coffey

Unfortunately, more RAM cannot be installed due the limit of Slots available. However, you may be able to upgrade the current RAM modules and replace them. It appears it has 2048mb (2GB) of RAM which is possible split into two 1GB sticks. You "may" be able to upgrade to 4GB (split into two 2GB sticks). This is the current set up for the computer: 2048MB (4096MB max) SDRAM ' Memory Slots available for Upgrade: 0 ' Maximum RAM per available slot: 2048MB

Good Luck

How much ram can I install on my Averatec 2200?

The ram maxes out at 2GB. There is only one memory slot, so you would need a 2GB memory stick. Hope this helps.

Where to find the cmos battery on Averatec 5110

I don't know if there are multiple revisions where the CMOS battery located, but this information is from my 5110H, built in September 2003.
The CMOS battery is underneath the motherboard, between the main battery, memory, and wireless card. The approximate location is shown by the green circle in the picture below:0692552.jpg You might be able to just see it by opening the memory cover and looking sideways into the case.
To actually get to it, I think you will have to take it completely apart and remove the motherboard. I don't think there's enough room to pull it into the memory bay, but I guess you could try that first.

The battery is connected to the motherboard with wires and a connector, rather than being in a holder. It's stuck to the motherboard with thin double-sided tape, but that comes off fairly easily.
    180f32d.jpg
The wires run around the right and lower edges of the thin black plastic chip cover shown above, to the white connector at the lower left corner of the cover. No need to peel off the entire black cover- you can lift the edges to get the wire out.
Since my battery is still good, I didn't cut open the shrink wrap around it. So i don't know whether the wires are welded/soldered on or if there's some sort of holder inside.

    Memory installation

With the way computers are setup now it is plug and play and it will be recognized the very next time you reboot your PC. Find the appropriate memory based on your PC. Make certain to get the right memory based on your PC specifications. It takes a philips screw driver, locating the memory slots removing the old and placing in the new! If you need more help just let me know! It is really quite simple!
