Question about Intertherm P3RA-048K Air Conditioner

Central heat not blowing warm air

I have a 8 year old Heil maxproformance 10. The air works great but no heat at all. Lots of cold air. Just had the unit looked at, cleaned, and checked the freon level. Checked out ok. What should be my next thing to do short of calling my repairman out? Could it be my theromostat?

Thanks Robynn

I have the same problem. What is T-start?

  • Ken Bledsoe May 11, 2010

You can test your t-stat by taking the cover off the stat and jump from R terminal to W terminal if unit starts t-stat is bad. Let me know how this goes. I keep thinking about problems to try to get to the next item it could be. ken

Do you know if your unit is a heat pump or not? Sounds like it may be an electrical problem and yes you would need to call a service tech.

I have a 10 year old Receiver. I have a DVD player connected and the picture does not display when the receiver is running for a period of time.

This sounds like a thermal issue, meaning after the receiver has been on for a while it gets to warm and then fails. I suspect after 10 years the unit may have accumulated some dust that is not allowing the heat sinks to dissipate heat adequately. I would use compressed air and blow the unit out. Some computer stores have blow stuff in a can that work well. If you have and air compressor, dial it back to 10 psi or so. You will be amazed at how much **** will come out of that unit. Also be carful not to stack anything on top of your receiver. Make sure there are lots of openings around the unit. High temperatures kill electronics.
Hope this helps.

My heil heat pump is not blowing warm or hot air

Assuming that the fan is okey, there's only one item to be checked, and that is the HEATING ELEMENT.
This answer is based from your comment that it is not blowing warm or hot air. So, I conclude that it is blowing air but neither hot or warm, only ambient air. So, unplug it, and check the heating element. It may need to be replaced to make it work. May this will
help you.

Central air unit only blows warm air , when set on cold

First check to see if your outside unit is working and you can here the compressor running. If the fan runs and the compressor does not you have a problem with the capacitor or wires burnt off terminals. If your not sure you know how to work on this please call a service tech ask for free estimate. If the unit compressor and fan runs you may be out of gas that meanns you have a leak. Either way you need a service tech. You can only go so far without the correct tools to work with. Russ

Heil Max Performance 10 Heat Pump not working

First check to see if you have afloat switch inside the air handler ar underneath the air handler. Its purpose is to shut the outside ac off if the drain stops up. Very common. If this is OK take cover off unit and with screw driver push in the contactor. It is located about the middle of the panel. It has main power at the bottom. If unit comes on you cave a control voltage problem. Meaning something is not allowing 24 volts to the contactor. If your out of Refrigerant the low pressure swich will have it off. Call a service tech. Rusty

20 year old central a/c heater not working

Check your thermostat and mode selector setting, thermostat setting should be set at warmer and mode selector setting should be at low heat or hight this is applicable for manual unit.
If it is a remote control just set the remote to heat mode.
