Re: My tv don't work

Open the small hatch next to where the power cord enters the back of your t.v. using a phillips screwd you driver. There is a small fuse there that may be blown//careful not to touch anything and remember that even if the unit is unplugged their are circuits inside that will still store a high voltage charge.

I have a Philips Magnavox 20MC4304 20 in. TV/VCR/DVD Combo. But the DVD player shows some error. It said "playback feature may not be available on this disk" and it dosen't read the disk.

Try some other discs if you have not----If all show the same or similar error you have either a dirty or bad optical pickup in the player (it reads the discs).

Hi Iam trying to program a universal remote control to my sansuni tv vcr dvd combo but haven't had any sucess. I have tried to do it with several different universal remote but none of the codes seem to...

How old are the remotes relative to the TV in question? If the remotes are older than the TV or were programmed within 6 months of this TV being released, then the code you need wasn't included in the remote's programming. In addition, unfortunately, many universal remotes do not work on combination TVs (with the DVD player and VCR built-in).

You can try to search through all the codes for the remote if your remotes have that feature. (On RCA remotes, turn on the TV, press and hold the Code Search button until the indicator light comes on, then press and release the TV button. Then press the On/Off button repeatedly until the TV turns off. Press Enter and see if the other functions of the remote work. If they do not, repeat the search. Then do the same but press the DVD and VCR buttons instead of the TV button.)

More likely you need a newer universal remote, a programmable (via computer USB) universal remote or a substitute remote from the manufacturer. See for an exact substitute remote that will replace the original remote.

I hope this helps.

What channel does the tv need to be on to operate the dvd player? The dvd player comes on but it doesn't recognize the button commands on the tv-do no have the remote.

channel 3 or 4. if that doesnt work switch the input on the tv. the input button might be labelled input/source/tv-video or av. if you arent getting a pic while the dvd player is playing look at the back of the tv and see where the cable from the dvd player is going into the tv. it is labelled what input it should be on. ex: video 1, etc. hope this helps.

Dvd player wont work

Try cleaning the laser pickup with an approved cleaning disc. If that doesn't work the DVD assembly will have to be replaced. The part number for the DVD unit is 996500034650. Thanks for using fixya.

Magnavox mwd 2206 dvd vcr player....shuts off with eject word across screen.

On a unit I checked with this same symptom, removing the top cover allows the unit to stay on and operate normally. There is some sort of sensor at the left middle of the chassis, which, when unblocked by any opaque object, allows the unit to remain on. A temporary fix (not advisable) would be to replace the top cover with a piece of clear plastic or taut saran wrap (no vent holes needed). It's unclear exactly where/what that sensor is from a cursory test. This is a work in progress on someone else's machine that I lack full access to.
