Question about Fuji FinePix Z10fd Digital Camera

1 Answer

Finepix z10FD - poor quality pictures

Even in the highest pixel setting (8m) and at all distances, the photos taken are not sharp, have lots of 'noise' and lack detail. What am I doing wrong?

SORRY TO SAY, YOU PROBABLY AREN'T DOING ANYTHING WRONG. AFTER MUCH READING ON THIS CAMERA I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS ONE OF THE WEAK POINTS, POOR PICTURE QUALITY AND NOISE ON PHOTO'S PLUS LACK OF DETAIL. SEEMS THIS CAMERA IS BEST SUITED FOR " FUN " SHOTS, BUT REALLY NOT AT ALL QUALIFIED FOR ANYTHING BETTER THAN THAT. I HAVE INCLUDED A HOTLINK TO A REVIEW ON THE CAMERA THAT I THINK WILL EXPLAIN MOST EVERYTHING TO YOU. IF IT HAPPENS TO BE FAIRLY NEW, I WOULD RECOMMEND RETURNING IT AND INVESTING IN A BETTER CAMERA. HOPE THIS ANSWERS YOUR QUESTION. IF YOU NEED MORE HELP,REPLY TO ARCLIGHT1217.

Hi there I just bought a Polaroid two instant print camera but the quality of pics is really poor very washed out and even a bit blurry do I need to set it up?

set your pixel ratio to the largest setting, this means less pictures per memory, but higher picture quality. Also if possible adjust your iso to the highest setting, as well as the shutter speed, having both of these settings set to the highest point will require more light for picture taking, however will result in the highest quality image.

In the menu, you can change the megapixels used and the picture quality to the highest setting.

My fuji s9600 has pixel problem i.e cannot enlarge the photos more than 4*6 size

It sounds like you are using wrong settings.
S9600 produce 3488x2616 pixels with the highest settings, which should be more than sufficient to produce 11x 8" prints.
To change picture settings, press the F button, choose Quality, select 9M F (or N, if you can live the more aggressive JPG comprimation)

Falling image quality

Take a few test shots with the camera on a firm surface or on a tripod. Are they better?

Pixel problem, all pictures taken have poor pixel resolution

It sounds like you set the file settings to a small file size - perhaps in order to get more photos on a single memory card. You need to change the setting to the largest file size possible, at the highest quality. The steps for this will be in your manual. If you need detailed instructions and don't have your manual, let me know and I'll lookup your manual online.

Very poor quality pictures; grainy.

This is easily fixed - go into MENU and you will find a picture quality Q. This is designed to go from FINE - Medium - POOR in order to enable you to take more photos on you cameras memory. Install at least a 1gb memory stick into your camera and then choose HIGHEST QUALITY you will now be able to get plenty a photos at the highest quality possible gor the camera with an 8.2 megapixal those photos should be really nice. Image qulaity problem in fujifilm finepix fd50

It sounds like the resolution on the monitor may be set incorrectly in Photoshop. Try a different monitor setting. Twelve megapixels may result in your monitor "seeing" so many pixels it tries to ignore the excess ones, resulting in an image that looks poor on your monitor. If you order one print, that may give you an idea of the true printed quality without spending a lot of money on a bunch of bad prints. The F50 is truly an excellent camera and gives super images, from my experience.
