Question about Zalman Tech Computers & Internet
I recently bought this product:
Zalman CNPS7700-AlCu Oem pack for Intel lga775 : aluminum+copper FHS + 120mm Fan : 1200/2200rpm , double ball bearing , noise 18/27db - for intel Lga775
along with a gpu cooler. The gpu fan is running fine, but my cpu is running at 60-65C when my pc is idling, even if I take the cover off it remains so hot. I have checked all the wires, I can't find any obstructing the fan itself upon the cpu. I was wondering if this is normal or if there is somewhere I can adjust the cpu fan speed that i'm not aware of.
I would appretiate any help.
This will depend on the motherboard you are using.
however, you need to make sure that the CPU fan lead is plugged into the correct plug on the motherboard... for example, I have an Intel 975xbx motherboard and it has 4 fan plugs, but only one of those is for the CPU. The others are for front/rear/top fans. If the CPU fan is plugged into one of the secondary ports, the CPU fan wont speed up correctly.
Also, some BIOS settings in the motherboard allow you to enable or disable automatic fan speed adjustment, and also set the temperature points.
