I used to frequently take out the battery on my machine and put it back in over and over again until one time it sparked and made an audible pop. now it only works on ac power. some thing inside your laptop may be fried, or there may be an illegal contact somewhere either inside your laptop or inside the battery. or there may be something on the contacts that connect the battery to the laptop.

The change oil light came on. on my friends 2002 monte carlo ss so i gave it an oil change and a new filter . the light won't go off.

The "Oil Change Reminder Light" has to be reset.

To reset the oil change reminder light with the accelerator pedal, turn the ignition switch to the ON position. Do not start engine. After turning the ignition ON, depress the accelerator pedal fully to the floor and let it up again 3 times within 5 seconds. The oil change reminder light should flash a few times to let you know that it is resetting. If it does not flash, turn the switch OFF and repeat the procedure. After it flashes, turn the ignition switch OFF. Then start the engine. The light should come on for a bulb check then go out and stay out.

Compaq nx5000 with new battery and new power

Dear,

Try pressing the CAPS LOCK. If CAPS LOCK is responding then it is surely your inverter.

It is a known problem with the nx5000 series laptop.

The FAN switches off because Intel SpeedStep which is absolutely normal.

I faced and solved at least 6 - 7 such problems on different nx5000 laptops

If CAPS LOCK is not responding then its your motherboard.

Good Luck and Regards
