60" Projection Tv - Approx 6 yrs old

Screen in showing white or glow in backround. Too much glare

    I have the same problem with the white glare and can't make adjustments with the picture convergence or any other picture menu options

Your CRT fluid needs to be replaced. After many years the crt cooling fluid gets a ton of alage built up in the tubes.  This will cause the screen to get a halo effect or get darker.

You only need to replace the fluid in the blue and green tubes.

hello it sound like the convergance ic may be the problem 2 large chips at the back of the tv usually behind the tuner board they sit on a metal frame called a heatsink also you will have to check the resistor in front of the ic and the 2 capacitors at either end

You have contamiated fluild in red tube remove old projection fluild and put in New this should then give you a clear picture. call Mats for projection fluild 1-800-628-1118

Fuzzy, washed out screen - fix was change crt coolant


A common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture
