When doing a resize copy using SATA drives or copying using an IDE master drive to SATA drives of the same size the resulting duplicates will not boot in a computer. We just get a cursor in the upper left of the screen.
If we copy SATA to SATA or IDE to IDE of the same size, we have no problem with the resultant duplicates booting.
I contacted Kanguru and was first told to upgrade the firmware. This had no effect, so I called them again and they had me send the unit in for possible repair. They called me back and said they could not duplicate the problem. They had gone from a 40GB drive to a 160GB with no problems booting. They told me the problem could be the SATA cables. However, this makes no sense because we can copy SATA drives successfully as long as the master drive is SATA and the copies are the same size as the master.
I have the unit back now and it is still doing the same thing. I have connected the duplicate I made to a computer(via USB) and all the data is there, but it will not boot up when connected as the boot drive on a computers.
This is perplexing and we paid a lot of money for this machine. If someone has a solution or suggestion it would be most appreciated.

I wouldn't recommend one of these to anyone, just because of the support. It is simple to use, but unless I get a resolution to the problem we can only make same size copies which is not what was advertised.
