Since you have sound, the audio circuits are working. The most common cause of this is to have the TV set to use SAP. There are many channels where this is an unused option and others that broadcast the same audio on the standard channel as well as SAP. If you change the channels and get Spanish rather than English for example, you have SAP turned on. Check the audio menu for SAP status.
Locate the SAP or MTS feature by TV remote button or TV Audio Menu. It needs set to STEREO. SAP or Second Audio Production is not used by every broadcaster. In those cases, you will have no SAP audio on the channel. I hope this was helpful, best wishes.
Your SAP/MTS function is most likely turned on. This feature has 3 modes: Stereo, Mono and SAP. Stereo and Mono are easy to understand, it's the SAP that can get you. SAP stands for Second Audio Production. It is used to provide weather, information or an additional language translation of a program. Some broadcasters simply transmit the mono audio over the SAP audio channel when the are not using it for other purposes. Other broadcasters simply do not use it, which does not give you any audio. Look on your remote for a SAP or MTS button. If you do not see one, look in your TV user menu for this feature. If you are using a cable box, look in the audio menu of the cable box. You are looking for something set to SAP... just change it to STEREO. I hope this was helpful.
in the menu of your tv .. look for SAP .. thats secondary audio program .. turn that off ... if you have a cable box then check that also in its setup .. . if you cant find SAP then provide your model number and we can give more specific instructions ..
Try going to the audio menu then audio language and see what your settings are also try going to the options menu then caption/text and see what your settings are also in the options menu go to caption option. if that doesn't help try the same thing with the dvd player. hope this helps.
