How do i make a phone call using the intellifax 885mc?

Your thermal paper might be coated on the wrong side.

the brother I/F 885MC ( MC stands for message center ) it has a built in answering machine.

to use the built in massage center you need to press the receive mode key till the display reeds
( MSG CTR) next to the time & date

the way the fax need's to be hooked up is from the wall jake to the line jake on your fax machine.

anything you need after that you go from the ext. jake to your ansering machine or extra phone.

make sure your receive mode is set to "auto" or "fax only". if thats not it, you may have a phone line problem. i have seen that before.

It means it cannot detect a dial tone. Plug in a regular phone in to check.

It should automatically print out a journal every 50 faxe s.

See pages 42 and 43 section 5-2 (setup Receive) Hope it helps!

Unplug the power cord for 10 seconds.

The paper will probably come out black after being heated by the fuser. 350 degrees.

It should be under Menu, 2. Set up recieve, 1. Ring Delay.

You will have upto 10 rings.
