Connecting to my network

Its not a modem its a router. A Modem plugs in to a Telephone line. A Router plugs in to a Broad Band Line. A Modem connects to a RJ11 Cable. A Router Connects to a Coaxial Cabal, the router connects to a computer via wireless or ethernet after that. A Modem connects to a computer using RJ11 or RJ45 Cat4 Ethernet. Very different.

Download fromone computor to another

It the computers are at the same location you would need to "Network" them.
Networking is done through a network adapter or hub, less than $15.

Connect the (2) computers to the adapter so you can then set up as a "Network"

Your best way to do this is use your own computer help search for networking
by typing in "Networking".

It setup correctly this will allow computer to access each other for file tranfers
or other uses as you may need.

How to networking computers

I guess you want to network computers. For this you have to have two or more computers. There should be LAN ports or NICs (Network Interface Cards) in each computer. Else you will have to buy NICs. You will also need a network switch or a router. This should have enough ports to support the number of computers you have. I f you have 4 computers, select an 8-port hub. Also you will need network cables.
For more information, type 'wiki networking' in Google.

I am trying to connect to the web with my new sylvania ce netbook and it has the right password in it I click the internet icon says connecting the shows up unable to connect. Can you help me or should I...

Using the Personal computer to arrive into network requires turning on the device that would have a password to display the system windows. After the computer turns on though would have required a computer user password or possibly not, locate an internet explorer icon whether example; google, mossilla fox pro, chrome, netscape, internet explorer, are just network interface where network features would show up on. 2. clicking on the internet icon should require a password if built to require user pass before joining a network. 3. The password would possibly been disabled in some instances, where for example clicking on the internet explorer icon should simply display a page welocoming the network required. For example, if the internet explorer icon is clicked showing display page momentarily, then www.Google.com is typed in the search space of the page displayed, a connected network should show another page displaying the features of the page or site google show mometarily after search space has been click. An unconnected network would always display a message or network unavailable or internet not setup and requiring establsiment. The most situation would be a message communicating the cause of network malfunction. if the computer has a network subscription plan, for example a provider that has promised to network the computer in question for fees, where would have provided the computer user an installation kit either software to install on the computer to be linked to a network. The computer with networking defaults would turn on completely only after which just cannot network into another setup when a page is clicked onto it. Simply, ask your network provider for further assistance.

The following are network providers to contact for subscription and technicallities involving computer telecommuncation.

Cricket wireless services
AT & T wireless services
T-Mobile wireless services
Verizone wireless services
Pocket commication services
Trac wireless services
Boost mobile wireless services

Visit any locations to inquire about networking functionalities to phones or computers or contacting online by email or phone with questions of connectivity

How to install an wirless adapter to mi desktop

Install a wireless network adapterIn areas that are served by a wireless network, you can connect to a computer network without using a cable, and surf the Internet or connect with other computers. To connect to a wireless network, your computer needs a wireless network adapter.
Many new computers-especially laptops-come with wireless adapters. Before using your computer, check to see if it already has a wireless network adapter.
If your computer doesn't have a wireless network adapter, you can install one.
Install a wireless USB network adapter. Most people prefer this type of adapter for any type of computer, because it's easy to install.
Install a wireless CardBus or CF network adapter. For portable computers, this type of adapter (also called a PCMCIA or PC Card) is easier to travel with than a USB adapter, because it is often smaller and fits securely in the PC Card slot on the side of the computer.
Install a wireless internal network adapter. If you have a desktop computer, you may prefer an internal adapter so that you can use the USB port to connect another accessory.
The type of adapter you install depends on your computer and your level of expertise.
How to determine if you already have a wireless network adapterMany portable computers manufactured after 2000 have wireless networking built in. However, because the antenna is hidden inside the computer, it's not easy to see.
To see which network adapters are currently installed in your computer
1.
Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

Click Network and Internet Connections.

Under or pick a Control Panel icon, click Network Connections.

Microsoft Windows XP displays your network adapters. Wireless network adapters are labeled Wireless Network Connection. If an adapter displays a red X, it is disconnected. If the Network Connections window is blank, your computer doesn't yet have a wired or wireless network adapter.

Network printer

First you ned to have a print server connected to your router for any network printer to work.
Also, you can set up printer sharing on a computer that the printer is plugged into. However this computer must always be on for you to print from any other remote computer.

Network connection problem - need to repair "IP address"?

The first thing I would do is to try a new network cable. The cable that goes from your ATT modem to your computer. If that does not work, try downloading Winsock Fix
to a flash drive and then run it on your computer. If that does not work you need to buy and install a new network card ($25 or less) available at any office supply or computer store. If that does not work it's got to be your modem or you have a really bad virus.

Please don't forget to rate this solution.

I was told I could find tutorials on networking my 2 computers here?

Check

http://www.5starsupport.com/tutorial/networking-crossover-cable.htm

http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/networking/overview/networking.html

http://www.leeindy.com/ Look towards the middle you might find a match

http://www.techtutorials.net/tutorials/networking/general.html

Technically to connect two computers together all you need is a crossover cable. But if you are planning on connecting to computers onto a network its best to describe more. I would then need to know what kind of Service Provider you have? and whats ur network setup like and so forth.generally for that you would need a router to split an internet connection to two computers. the router would have to be connected to the service provider modem.

Read above links and they should help you out. If you need any more info. Please let me know.

Wont sign on to internet

Is the computer recognizing the connection to the network?  Does the home network use DHCP?  How do you have the network setup?  Does this connection work with a different computer?  Try pinging any other computer on the network, and try pinging a website.
