I ended up downloading the repair manual and was able to get it into diagnostic mode. After pushing the more time, less time button about 6 times in a row 88 flashed along with all of the buttons on my machine.
I then pushed off one button at a time and one button, my alarm that signals the end of the load was stuck 1/2 in 1/2 out and I was able to get it entirely out and now it works like a charm.

The first thing to try is a hard reset. Unplug it and replug it in and see if anything happens. by dead, does it have any indication of being on? Please let me know if it is totally off or what. thanks
A bad circuit board or capasitor will cause this, mostly its the circuitboard. Depending on the age replace it with a Chamberlain/Sears opener or they make a model called LIFTMASTER you can only get this thru a garage door company.
I'm sure you solved the problem but as i had the same problem on my electric LG front loader and saw no response i figured I would leave one for anybody else in the future. My girlfriend told me the dryer would not start and as i looke i saw the panel would not power up, I unplugged the power cord for 5 minutes and the LG reset and the panel was on and reading clean filter after checking the filter which appeared clean I tried to restart the dryer at which time it powered off. I again unplugged the dryer and replugged it and again the display read clean filter. I then gtabbed a phillips #2 and unscrewed the filter lint sceen which had a total of 4 scews in the interior of the dryer holding the filter housing unit. Youll see a piece of the housing unit remains screwed into the washer hooked up to two electrical plugs. Seperate both plugs from the unit and unscrew it and remove the unit youll notice two silver strips on the unit and I'm guessing will be covered with a small amount of lint. Clean the unit with a brush and damp cloth inside and out reattach the unit screw first and housing unit and turn on. If the dryer again turns off unplug and youll see the clean filter light. Simply push the custom program light or anything similar and the panel should start working again. I hope this helps someone.
If the dryer does nothing at all, it's probably the door switch. Give it a good look over. You Does the light com on inside when you open the door? Does it appear to have power but just won't start?
1. Unplug dryer.
2. Remove 2 screws from rear top of dryer.
3. Lift panel assembly up, taking care to not pull wires.
4. Check plugs on circuit board for panel display. Press each one firmly, but carefully.
5. Put back together, plug in, turn on.
That is because either you screen is dead(test by connecting a exteral monitor) or you motherboard is dead and I have been seeing many dead motherboards as of late
