Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

I have a VSX-D901S Receiver which has been faithfully flawless for many years. Lately it developed a hum/buzz in the front amp when it is first turned on. If I leave it on for an hour or so the hum seems to quiet down but never goes away. By isolating the front amps from the front pre-amps I lose the noise in the amps and have 2 quiet as usual channels. Any ideas? Is it worth getting repaired? It's a great amp and I would hate to lose it. Thanks, Tom

I HAD the same problem. I took it to a Pioneer authorized repair shop and they fixed it for $75.

Been working great ever since. However, now I have a new problem-- the remote quit working---completely dead. New batteries didn't help. Any ideas.

Yes it worth to repair it but you must bring into Pioneer factory or service center for Pioneer they are able to repair it
It require to replace a few electrolytics capacitors in power supply regulator if you are in AUSTRALIA it would cost between $150 to $250 to repair it
I hope that give you some idea
Cheers

Refrigerator has developed a low buzz or hum. Do I need to be concerned?

Hello friend, thank you for your post!

I understand that your Frigidaire refrigerator, LFHT1817LW1, is buzzing or humming. With modern, high efficiency compressors you may hear a high pitched humming or pulsating sound. Additionally, if you have an icemaker equipped inside of your refrigerator the water valve may produce a buzzing noise as the valve opens to fill the icemaker with water. I hope this has been helpful. -Matt

Left speaker has developed a hum. Checked connections and all seems well. Sounds raspy like the speaker has blown.

This is likely due to a problem with the amplifier. You may have turned up the amp to the point of overdriving the speaker. The distortion at these high levels cause clipping and turn what was once crisp, clear sound into a muddied, garbled mess.

If the speaker is left connected to that source long enough, damage to the speaker and the amp may occur.

Without changing positions of the speakers: You can disconnect the affect Front or Rear L & R speakers and swap them (connect the L speaker to the R output of the amp and vice-versa). If the buzzing / hum "moves" to the other speaker, then the amplifier has the problem. If the buzzing / hum stays with the same speaker, the speaker has issues and is likely "blown".

Either way, it is probably not going to be a "cheap fix"

Good luck!

AVR-4800 - After 30 min audio goes out all channels just hum/buzz

if it is under warrantee then fix it.
sounds like a component is over heating, probably cost couple hundred (or more) to fix it, balance that with what you paid.

Pioneer VSX-D411 receiver "Amp Error" message

Hello,
Unfortunatelly your receiver has failed. The front panel is telling you one of the power modules is probably bad. Not an DIY type of repair. These parts are near $40.00, plus cost of replacing.
Look at options to replace your trusted receiver with a new one.
Good luck
