It sounds like the on-board audio is dying, you could replace the motherboard but it is not necessary. You can pick up an internal sound card for around $20-$30, here is an example of the kind you would want.

Because they are so cheap and easy to install, i would say this is the solution that will save you the most time and frustration if you're willing to spend a little cash.

Hi Rajeeva.

To start try downloading updated codecs for Windows Media player, and install them onto the new laptop.

Use this link to download updated codes:Free-Codecs.com :: Download latest audio codecs

If that is not enough also update Windows Media Player on the new laptop. Link is below.

Windows Media Player 11.

Updating codecs should fix the problem already.

DLNA Projector-Enjoy Vacation AVCHD videos on Projector with NAS sharing via...

Video Management for DLNA-Connect and Stream AVCHD Video to Projector via DLNA on NAS with Window 7 MTS/M2TS Joiner<br /> <br /> We have a happy summer in Hawaii. With our travel companion, the compact Panasonic Lumix FZ100, we shot videos in 1920x1080 60i. But we got a large amount of clips when we connect the camera to PC from our vacation. Our PC with Windows Media Player 12 can play the videos, but we generally put the videos to NAS, so that our devices can find and <b><a href="http://dts-ac3-converter.com/2011/07/enjoy-vacation-avchd-videos-on-projector-with-nas-sharing-via-dlna/">enjoy/play Vacation videos on Projector via DLNA</a></b>. I use the HD Writer AE, but could not join several clips in a quick and easy way. <br /><br />My friend recommends me to use Aunsoft Final Mate, and it really does a good job with the preview. There seems no quality loss while the files are joined into one large file. What is more important, the whole process is done in a blink second. <br /><br />It facilitates the <b><a href="http://www.aunsoft.com/final-mate/">Video Management for DLNA</a></b>, which would be stored in NAS. We can not only play the videos on PS3 hooked to my Samsung HDTV, but also watch them on LCD projector connected to the HTPC. Below are my simple steps using Final Mate to merge AVCHD clips on Windows 7. <br /><br />About <b>DLNA Projector</b> : <br /><br />How to <b><a href="http://canon-videoconverter.com/2011/07/video-management-for-dlna-connect-and-stream-avchd-videos-to-projector-via-dlna-on-nas-with-window-7-mtsm2ts-joiner/">Merge AVCHD Videos and Connect/Stream to Projector via DLNA</a></b>? <br /><br /><b>1. Import videos to Aunsoft Final Mate.</b> <br />For the videos on PC hard drive, run Aunsoft Final Mate as MTS/M2TS joiner <b><a href="http://www.aunsoft.com/final-mate/">NAS sharing via DLNA</a></b>, go to the Resource tab, and click the "Add file path" button to browse the folder with the .mts or .m2ts files. <br />For videos on camera, just use USB cable to connect camera to PC, and follow the pop-up message on Final Mate to import clips to Camcorder tab. <br /><br /><b>2. Merge AVCHD footage for lossless output.</b> <br />Click the Create New Movie button, and a new Movie ID for lossless output will be created on Movies tab. Drag and drop the clips with the same event to the Movie ID. For another event or other clips, just create another lossless movie. <br /> <br /><b>3. Get AVCHD file for DLNA sharing.</b> <br />Click the Export button under the volume settings, and click the OK button to start joining AVCHD files into one large file. <br /><br />So no matter you are using Popcorn Hour, PlayStation 3, NAS from Netgear, Synology, QNAS, LCD projectors like LG HS200 or other home projectors, you can easily <b>Stream and Play <a href="http://www.aunsoft.com/final-mate/">HD videos with projector via DLNA</a></b>.

Best Mac Manage MTS Converter-Cut and Join Canon HF M300 AVCHD MTS clips to Panasonic HDTV with Highest Qulity <br /> I am using Canon HF M300 to record videos and the camcorder saves AVCHD files in .mts format. The Canon VIXIA HF M300 captured 1920 x 1080 24Mbps Full HD Recording. I connect the Canon Camcorder to my Panasonic HDTV via direct USB. Then one of my friend recommended to a new <b>MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 cutter/joiner software</b> for Final Mate for Mac exactly what I want - delete the unwant .mts clips and merge HF M300 1080/60p meaningful MTS files to one single MTS files without re-encoding. And I had succeed play those merged .mts files on my Panasonic TV. <br /><br />Here is the detailed guide introduces <b>how to split unwanted HF M300 record AVCHD .mts clips and join meaningful mts clips without conversion for playing on Panasonic HDTV</b> with Mac OS X Snow Leopard on iMac, MacBook, Mac Pro. <br /><br />Step 1: <b>Import/Capture Canon HF M300 Camcorder AVCHD files to Aunsoft Final Mate for Mac.</b> <br />Free Download Final Mate for Mac as a <b><a href="http://www.aunsoft.com/final-mate-mac/">Best Mac Manage MTS Converter</a></b>. When Aunsoft <b>Final Mate for Mac</b> is run, it can automatically detect and pop up a wizard for you to capture video from camcorder. Then select one or multiple mts video files you would like to split, join from the Camcorder tab and then drag and drop them to Movie tab. In this way, a Movie for no re-encoding will be created. <br /> <br />Step 3. <b>Cut off unwanted parts from raw MTS movie for store</b>. <br />From the timeline, to cut/trim the video, just play it and click the Split button when it plays to the frame you want, and then click the "Delete" button next to the <b>Split</b> button to remove the unwanted. And the Previous Frame and Next Frame buttons can help you locate each frame of the videos and cut with frame accuracy. <br /> <br />Step 4. <b>Join/combine HF M300 AVCHD MTS raw footage</b>. <br />To <b>join</b> another clip to the end of the movie, just select the file, drag and drop to the movie ID. Best WebM Video Converter-Convert Sony AVCHD to WebM with HTML5 on Windows 7

AVCHD MTS/M2TS to WebM Converter-Publish HD videos Online via HTML5
Sony CX700 AVCHD to WebM format for web sharing with HTML5

I have a Sony Handycam, Sony CX700, which produces .mts files for each clip I press the start recording and pause button. The videos will be used as a presentation on my website. I use VideoJS as the private web server, and make the video compatible to most browsers with HTML5 code.

However, I would like to put some clips together and cut some useless segments and get videos in WebM format. After googling solutions for converting CX700 AVCHD to WebM format for web sharing with HTML5, I find Aunsoft Final Mate as the best choice for dealing with the videos for web sharing. It provides direct .webm as output format, and also allows me to download selective clips for joining and editing.

Below is the fast guide for you to convert AVCHD files from Sony camcorder to .webm file on Windows 7. It also works .m2ts files on Windows XP, Windows Vista.

Step 1. Import Sony AVCHD footage to Final Mate.
Run Aunsoft Final Mate as the best AVCHD MTS/M2TS to WebM converter on Windows. Connect the AVCHD CAM to PC and follow the wizard to select files for importing to the converter. If you have the AVCHD files on PC hard drive, just go to the Resource tab, click the Add Path button to browse the folder with the .mts files.

Step 2. Join CX700 MTS clips.
Select the files from the Resource or Camcorder tab, drag and drop to the Movie tab to create a single movie with several clips. To get another file as output, just click the Create New Movie button, then drag and drop other clips to the new movie ID. The files are joined/merged automatically.

Step 3. Deinterlace 1080i to 1080p. (optional)
If your camcorder provides 1080i recordings, you can tick the checkbox for deinterlacing to remove the lines and make video as progressive mode.

Step 4. Convert MTS to WebM format for HTML5.
Click the Export button, and go to the last tab. Choose Common Video > WebM Video Format(*.webm) as output format. Then click the OK button, and the WebM video converter will convert CX700 MTS files to WebM files for HTML5 on Windows 7.

When the conversion is done, you can publish HD videos online via HTML5, and present videos on webpage.

Tips:
1. If you would like to upload the videos to YouTube or Vimeo, you can use the lossless mts output function to get files within seconds.

2. If you are running Mac OS X like Leopard or Snow Leopard, just try Aunsoft Final Mate for Mac as AVCHD video management tool on Mac.
