After hours of searching I finally found a fix:
1. Remove the battery
2. Remove the HDD
3. Removed the RAM to make the solder points, marker 'J1' on the motherboard visible
emachines e525 bios password - emachines-e525-bios-password-bueb2fgw15ei4wj3vksvhmc2-2-1.png 4. I then used a paper clip and sticky tape to join these solder points
5. With the solder points joined, insert one stick of RAM and turn the machine on
6. Wait until the laptop is in a post BIOS state (past the screen where you can press F2 for setup and where the logo shows) and remove the paper clip. This has to be removed while the laptop is still on.
7. Turn off computer, press F2 to enter BIOS and you should find there is no password.
Repeat the above steps if you find this doesn't work.

SOURCE: BIOS PAssword

Here is information on CMOS BIOS passwords. You have to follow instructions closely. Aside from that, there is no other way.

SOURCE: default bios password toshiba satellite a135-s2276

I have a Satellite A135-S2356 that had the same problem. I tried the solution from PCTServices above and it worked great.

"Power unit off. Disconnect AC power. Remove battery. Remove the memory cover screw, memory cover and the memory modules. Peel back mylar from JOPEN1 solder pad. Short JOPEN1 solder pads for 30 seconds. Replace mylar. Replace memory modules. Replace battery. Power up unit. If all is well, replace memory cover and screw."
Just short the two little solder pads and it worked great! I thought I would have to send it back to the manufacture but I am back in buisness. Thanks for the help.

what you need to do is pull both the laptop battery as well as the cmos battery. in some instances, the battery can be pulled, but on other models, i have seen the battery as an actual physical part on the motherboard or somewhere where it is not easily accessible, in which case you need to clear the cmos by using a jumper on the motherboard, since it is a laptop, they are all different. you may need to see if you can locate a copy of the motherboards schematics and go from there.

Black screen blue box saying

some one must have put in a boot password to your laptop,
follow this:
When booting up, enter your BIOS setup (usually by pressing the F2 key at the appropriate time).

Locate the BIOS Password section and turn the ON STARTUP password to off. There is no standard setup for BIOS, so I can't give you exact instructions.

If this does not work, try:
remove cell & start your pc you will here beep...beep...beep...

then turn off your pc & restore your cell.Start your pc and
password is removed.

there is a battery on motherboard,a button cell, you can try removing that and start computer, then put it back, bios settings will be lost.
you can also try removing any hardware like ram,if you have two, when system is off, turn on , it will prompt for changes , enter bios and try remove password.

This only works if you have a bootable disc inserted. It will auto roll to next item in boot sequence. Test disc elsewhere if this the case.

How can i unlock F2 set up on my Emachines E525 if it ask me for a password but dont have it

You will need to reset the BIOS, and for that, open the case.
Reseting the BIOS is simple; open the case, find a small battery that looks like a watch battery, and take it out. Then hold the power button in for 30 seconds. Replace the battery, and the password should be gone.
There might also be a little switch or button labeled BIOS or Reset. You can use this to do the same thing.
Don't touch anything else while inside the case.
Hope that helps.

Hi is any one over there? I have Acer Aspire 4736 with XP pro OS, but I forgot my bios password. Can you help

in my experience, the best way to reset a bios password is to open it up, pull out the cmos battery for 3 min, and boot it up. it should say "password disabled". turn it off, put the cmos batt. back in, and boot. it should work now.

First, its neither a microsoft problem nor a E-Machine problem. It definitely seems that you or someone else has accidently set a CMOS password, which you are not aware of. And this is the only reason why you are getting a 'Enter Current Password' prompt. Now, let me explain to to you what we need to do. We would need to reset the CMOS Password. There are various ways to reset the CMOS Password, which requires some advanced troubleshooting steps and cannot be dictated here. Hence I would request you to call up E-Machine again and don't mentions the exact issue to them. Just tell them that you want them to help you reset the CMOS Password. Also, just in case someone might have made changes to the BIOS settings, get you BIOS settings set to default. Again, in case they are not able to help you on this, please feel free to initiate a chat session with me from the Fixya homepage and I would love to help you on this. Good Luck
