What is the rated wattage for the mastercraft drill


the wattage is on the plate attached to the drill and will still be the same as before you attach a step down transformer to get to the correct voltage
get a step down transformer that has a large wattage rating for 120 volts ( say 1200 watts ) as most 1/2 drills are 750 -1000 watts )
the wattage is for the rated current through the transformer and if the drill is of low wattage , it just gives the transformer a greater degree of serviceability in the duty cycle

At low volume it is fine after you get to about 20 on the volume it starts to crack,pop and distort very bad what is making this happen


Your speakers may say 350 watts but that is the peak wattage at which they blow up and not a wattage they can sound distortion free at. Look for the RMS wattage which is probably around 40 watts. If you look at the specs on your receiver you will see it will put out a maximum of about 50 watts but the distortion on the receiver is above 1 percent at anything over 22 watts. That means they are going to start distorting at around half volume. The other thing you might check for is a impedance mismatch between the speakers and the receiver. Is the receiver set up for an impedence output of 8 ohms but your speakers are 4 ohms impedance.

How do i get my speaker to work at high volume with out them cracking,popping destort


If you are using the factory installed speakers they aren't made for the wattage output of your receiver. Factory stereos only put out about 5 to 10 watts. If you want to play it really loud you need to replace them with speakers that have a higher wattage that what your receiver puts out, which is a maximum of 50 watts

No audio from center channel


You could check your voltages before and after you loose audio and see where the voltage changes. Working backwards from output to input. I use a signal tracer or a small wattage speaker such as a
ear bud. If you don't have access to a oscilloscope.
when using an ear bud I would start at the driver(low wattage)
the pa would blow it.

Your speakers may be underpowered by your receiver. Check the watts and impedance of the speakers, and the wattage of your receiver to make sure they closely match. (impedance is calculated in ohms- indicated by an omega symbol written near the wattage rating)
"Overload" may also mean that the amp went into protect mode, and that means that you're OVER-powering your speakers and it wants to protect them from damage due to impedance mismatch.
But- if the impedance and wattage match between the speaker and the receiver/amp, you should check the polarity of the speaker cables (+/-) BTW- never put 2 speakers in 1 output- that will almost always cause something like this and will sound bad.

Max. wattage for speakers w/ Technics Receiver SA-GX100?


I too have a Technics SA-GX100 and it's rated at 2 x 40W @ 8 Ohms. I have the Technics SB-2840 floor model speakers hooked to it, which are rated at 200W Music Input - 8 ohms. It sounds very nice just to be a 40W receiver.

well depending on the wattage of the speakers your trying to hook up to the amp if they exeed the maximum wattage then theres a chance u *could* blow a fuse nothing more then that, a fuse protects more expsinsive devices in ur amp, an if ur system keeps blowing fuses after doing that add up the watts 2 all ur speakers,
and remove the less needed

I am buying a pioneer vsx-d414 receiver and want to no if it will drive my cerwin vega e-712 speakersv says for receivers rated 8ohms or lower.. , just currious


Yes the Pioneer will drive the Cerwin Vega speakers. The Pioneer requires at least 8 ohm speakers and if the Cerwin Vega speakers are 8 ohms, it won't be ******* the receiver.

The speakers you have are high wattage, so the Pioneer may not be able to get the most out of them, but it should be pretty good.

It is always good to have speakers rated at a higher wattage than the receiver, that way the receiver will not fry the speakers. No matter what the wattage of a speaker, it will not pull more power out of an amplifier than the amplifier is capable of delivering. Some people have a mis-conception that if a speaker is higher rated that it will blow up the amp, this is just not true. Speakers do not pull power from an amp, they only put out as much power as the amp is pushing into them. But you can blow up an amp by driving it too hard for too long of time. They just get too hot and the heat stresses the amp circuit after a while.
