Ok. I have encounter that from the past. Here's why, Theres a certain printer that you install first the driver of the printer then it will ask you to connect the printer, then thats the time you to plug the cord. then the PC recognize and continue to installation. TIP: read first the instructions/manuals thoroughly. goodluck have a nice day.

I have a laptop and windows 7. Is there a driver for the computer that will enable me to use my hp f4240 deskjet

You could try the link below to HP website and choose the F4210 driver download. The F4200 series are virtually identical.

Can you e-mail instructions to set up my HP Deskjet 5940 printer to my Dell computer. My computer recently crashed while using this printer. I have another computer, but I"m unable to set up printer. ...

You can try to make sure no printer is there by uninstall all the printer drivers from control panel. Then use the CD of the printer to install it as a new one. Maybe system restore can bring you back the printing too.

DO NOT PLUG INTO COMPUTER UNTIL IT ASKS http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html?pageDisplay=support&jumpid=in_R329_prodexp%2Fhhoslp%2Fsplit%2Fsupport

Purchased computer model Elite 9070a have been well serviced with HP products this being 3rd HP computer we have purchased. However am very disalusioned with Vista program and wish to replace with windows...

You sound like you tried to install XP with Vista running - this will generate the message that you have received.

To install XP on your system, insert your XP disk into the computer and then restart it.

Select Boot From Disk during start up and this will lead you into the XP Installation.

Xp will not recognise Vista and will just overwrite it - deleting the current OS and formatting the C:\

Good luck.

New Ink cartridges registering as empty ...

Is it an HP printer? We had the same problem at work with print cartridges purchased at Staples. They have a major quality control problem. Your new print cartridge may be empty or dried out (died on the shelf). It's my problem at work, as I have over 80 HP deskjets, and Purchasing still insists on buying the Staples cartridges rather than the HP.

Sometimes if you shake a print cartridge really hard it may correct the problem. However, I would buy or borrow a black HP print cartridge and try it out in your printer. Works almost every time on the job. Good luck.
