Question about Hoover U5753-900 WindTunnel Bagless Upright Vacuum

Decreased suction at hose end

Hoover U5753-900 WindTunnel Bagless Upright Vacuum

I have a WIndtunnel and recently the hose has lost suction. I have done a detailed check for clogs and found nothing. It is similar to when you try to use the attachment without having the vacuum in the upright, but it is in the upright. Is there somekind of valve that opens/closes with changing of positions? How does that work and could it be the problem?

Thanks

Yes, the "door" on the angle hose might not closing properly when the vacuum is in the upright position (if you look at the vacuum from the back, this hose connects the back to the bottom of the vacuum and it has a "door" at the very bottom end that is supposed to block suction to the lower part of the vacuum while upright) Check for a build up of linty stuff in the corner. The best way to access this is to remove the two screws on the clamp found at the top of the hose, (freeing the hose on top only), straighten hose so you can see inside to the end, and watch inside as you press the upright release lever. (awkward, but worth the effort) You should be able to see the door move -it should be completely open when the vacuum is not locked upright, and should be completely closed when upright. Remove anything that might be preventing it from closing - I used a flathead screwdriver. Hope this helps someone!!!!

Vacuum not clogged but has low suction

Check all the pipes, there could be something stuck in them which hasn't come out.
Also check the base of the vacuum if there is something stuck in the base.
Lastly check if there are any leaks in the pipes.
Also check the suction without using the handle, by pulling the pipe in your hand and see if it has more suction.

I have a Hoover Windtunnel bagless self-propelled model #U6616-90. The vaccuum works fine, but the suction hose will hardly ****. There are no obstructions in the hose line. What could be wrong?

The only possible place where it could be clogged is where the hose goes into the motor if the hose is clear. Take the bottom off completely and use a flashlight and investigate. Hope this helped.

Decreased hose suction with Windtunnel

There are very few things left to check. First verify that the filter is installed properly, in the dirt cup. second check to make sure the dirt cup lid is on and secure. Did you use water on the round dirt cup filter? if you have you will need to replace it. To verify this remove the round filter and re-install the dirt cup on the vac. do not vacuum the carpet, just turn it on to check for proper suction. and then turn it off.

Your problem has nothing to do with it in the upright position. once turned on you will always have suction, either to the floor or when hose is removed from foot for accessories.

Wind tunnel hoover

Do you have suction at the hose end, if you do then it may be clogged at the inlet by the brush roll. Is the filter cartridge clean? If it is clogged and air can't pass thru it, then you will have no or low suction. Might also check the belt to make sure it is turning.

Hoover Windtunnel

Mine does the same thing. There is no suction. I found that there is a door that opens when you tilt the handle in the down possition. I think there should be a spring in place so it can open. Until I find a replacement spring I have to open the door manually throught the opening under the light.
