Question about AudioBahn AWES10P 10" Subwoofer Car Speaker

Distortion way to fast on my audiobahn awes10p

Hey there I recently bought an audiobahn awes10p subwoofer and built my own box that is around 1.5 cubic feet its 15x15x16 with a 3" port. My problem is that I have built boxes and had alot of audiobahn (alum10, alum12's, flameq) and bought this because I thought it would be a darn. I have it wired in parallel and hooked to a a2502dp audiobahn amp. My problem is how fast it distorts and how crappy it sounds. I was not impressed and i played with the port length and added an extra top plate. the port is 3" from bottom, i think tuned at 35. I am baffeled at what to do. It plays real good then i turn it louder and it just start flunkin on certain notes. thanks

Try to some polyphil or something like cotton to fill some of the empty space in the box to stop the echo. be sure to chek specs for the speaker you are building the box for. Speakers and their enclosures differ by speaker.

What type of enclosure for audio bahn aw1000x

I used to be an Audiobahn dealer and can help you with the box. However I can't find specs on that model in my records or on Audiobahn's website. If you email me (dynami28@charter.net) the Theile Small parameters for the subs I can give you more exact specs. The box should be ported (Audiobahn doesn't recomend a sealded box) with about 2.5 cubic feet, made of 3/4" MDF. Here are some generic specs that should go well with that particular sub.

Air Space (Cu. Ft.) 2.4

Port Size (Inches) 4 x 6.25

Tune Freq. (Hz) 39

SOUND Q SERIES
DUAL 6-OHM CONFIGURATION
Accommodating the rising trend of triple-subwoofer applications, Audiobahn’s Sound Q subwoofers come in dual 6-ohm configurations. This allows three Sound Q subwoofers to be wired in a 1- or 4-ohm operation. You now have the option to use a wider range of amplifiers to fit the needs of your specific application.

MULTI-CONNECT LUG LOCK TERMINALS
Audiobahn’s patented Multi-Connect Lug Lock Terminals offer increased versatility in wiring multiple subwoofers to an amplifier or to another voice coil. Multi-connect terminals allow you to use single wire connections in each terminal rather than combining multiple wires into one terminal. This feature allows you to use a full 8-gauge wire in each terminal.

COMMON FEATURES
Dual 6 Ohm VOICE COIL
Multi-connect Lug Lock Terminals

The Link below should answer all your questions.
Also remember to try to keep the lengths of the jumpers the same. I would make all the connections inside the box then use the teminal block of the box to connect to the amp.
Keep in mind that you can only get 1 Ohm if you use 3 woofers.
Your configuration allows for 1.5 Ohm
