If they are still under warranty, contact HP. If not, it may not be worth repairing. Sometimes a leaky power capacitor can be fixed. Otherwise the other components are surface mount and are very tricky to diagnose/repair.

I have been to YOUTUBE to see video clips of cold cathode fluorescent lamp, back-lit, lcd monitors being repaired by their owners / technicians and have see some that are very good. Some are not so good with documentation. How "OLD" did you say unit is?? Will unit do same exact thing (black screen of death) when connected to different pc??? Research, Research, then come back to fixya for more info if you need it. Then read fixya profiles of "budmrtn" "buddymc" "12fixlouie"

Monitor looks pink in white areas.

ghrit, if disconnecting-reconnecting the vga cable 4 or 5 times won't cure your PINK screen, then you may have bad inverter supply or the "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamps" might also be a bit tired-out and need replacing? Retrevo .com lists unit as over the hill but not ready to retire. Do some reading in my and other ("budmrtn" "buddymc") fixya profiles for info on what to do!!! Follow the links you find there to learn about pink screen and also black screen and blank n black screen conditions that occur with all brands of CCFL back-lit lcd monitors. Do some research here at FIXYA and pay a visit to YOUTUBE for video clips of "lcd monitor repair" "lcd monitor disassembly" so you have info for future use. Bye for now 12fixlouie

Monitor will come on, monitor status box will come on and then screen goes blank. How can I fix this?

rwhite97, If your pc is working fine with substitute monitor, and w1907 lcd unit does same (black screen, or blanknblack screen) when connected to a "known good" pc, then you should visit and read some stuff at this 2005 blog. Then learn the flashlight test and what it means. Then go to YOUTUBE for video clips on lcd monitor disassembly and lcd monitor repair if you are into do-it-yourself repair. Remember this!!! Your w1907 unit uses the same basic design and operation principles that ALL brands of ccfl back-lit lcd monitors use. Good luck with the repair. Come back here and leave comment after doing your research/investigation and then rate this response. 12fixlouie

Power button not working. Stuck in on position. How do I replace it?

warc619, Maybe the "button" is only thing broken. Maybe the "switch" is broken. Yoyu will need to see if you can view some video clips of monitor disassembly and repair at YOUTUBE first. Then you will need to "teardown" your unit and determine exactly what component(s) have failed and if you can get new exact same size unit from "Digikey" or "Radio Shack" or "Mouser".... WOW! you may even need to learn how to carefully desolder the bad switch and solder in the new one. Good luck with the repair. You didn't tell us what type of monitor you own!! CRT or CCFL back-lit LCD???? 12fixlouie

Slow coming on. Blank screen until you press the on button a few times

guest, If you do not have any time to explore (investigate, read) then trade your old unit for new!! If that not option you wish to take , then read fixya monitor profiles of "louie12fix" , "budmrtn", "buddymc" and other tech's that specialize in repair of "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamp back-lit lcd monitors. Follow all "links" you find in the profiles and view some video clips on YOUTUBE that deal with "lcd monitor disassembly" and "lcd monitor repair" to learn just WHY your unit acts the way it does. Why don't you try the "flashlight-test" that EVERY owner of an lcd monitor should know when a BLACK or BLANK screen shows up when it shouldn't be there in the first place. My best guess is that your monitor's problem is internal to unit and not a software problem. 12fixlouie Bye for now

My monitor does not turn on and the power button light keeps blinking

elvisy71, If different monitor will display the Win-desktop screen with no problem, then Gateway 2275w will need you or qualified electronics technician to possibly repair a defective internal "switch-mode-power-supply" / CCFL inverter supply" !! Check the status of unit warranty first, and check to see if Gateway has a swap-out (exchange+cash) program. If that dosen't work you will be doing a lot of reading about DIY lcd monitor fixes. You will also need to view some DIY video clips at YOUTUBE on "lcd monitor disassembly" and "lcd monitor repair" that will help you decide what to do about your now BLACK or BLANK n BLACK screen unit. You can find tons of DIY stuff here on fixya in my and other CCFL back-lit lcd monitor tech's fixya profiles. Elvis, remember this! Your 2275w isn't any different than any other brand of ccfl back-lit lcd display in it's basic design and operation and some can be DIY repaired for under $6 in parts cost. Just do some reading of the higher numbered (>16) pages in my fixya profile and my old profile "louie12fix" and follow the web links you find there. If this was of some help to you please come back to fixya and rate this response and tell me and all the other black screen lcd owners what you are planning to do about your monitor. 12fixlouie 42610

Power led on hp monitor flashing

mham2525, Did it have a "perfect" picture on it yesterday? You do know that if the COLD-CATHODE-FLUORESCENT-TUBES that are hung on the rear of the LCD PANEL fail to light, all you get is a BLACK screen to look at!!!!! OMG, What shall I do now???? It sure would be nice if all we needed to do was remove the cover and then screw-in 4 new CFL light bulbs into our monitors. YOUR UNIT WILL NEED TO BE TROUBLESHOOTED AND REPAIRED. MOST LIKELY A SMPS/INVERTER BOARD FAILURE. CALL HP TO SEE IF THEY HAVE A SWAPOUT PROGRAM. Bye for now. lmistyrel

Monitor trouble

Usually fuses do not allow the operation LED to light. Rarely nowadays are fuses used in LCD monitors. Since you're sure the monitor is the problem, then it will have to go to a reputable repair person.
