What I'm looking for is a site that can point to a source that can supply or give instruction on replacing the main processor board of this TV.

Hello,

I believe that snap sound was one of you capacitors blowing up. If you can take the back off do so and examine the circuit boards for the damaged capacitor. If you can replace it do so. If not get a qualified TV technician to look at the set and develop an estimate for the cost of repair.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

You can try a hard reset: Unplug TV from AC mains and remove all cables from TV. Wait about 30 minutes and replug to AC mains and redo the cabling. Switch on the TV and see if it works..Even this fails then its on board capacitor burned in the tv .you need to replaced the capacitor ....in the tv...

Good luck..

Try to unplug the power of the unit for few hours. That will reset it. If the same problem still persists, you definitely need to open the TV casing to visually check defect electronic parts like fuse and the power supply board. If you believe that you cannot perform these steps, it's better to consult a pro TV technician or bring it to the nearest electronic service center.

Hi I bought a Panasonic 42 Inch class 720P Plasma HDTV TH-42PX80U, the picture is fine, but there is a humming sound in the background of the audio. The louder I turn the tv the louder the hum. I tried...

If turning up the audio amplifies the problem, it is in the initial stages of audio. It could very likely be outside the TV, try difference sources to troubleshoot your setup. If it hums on all inputs, the problem is before your audio switch and could be on the board with the AV jacks. Note all plasma tvs hum out of the back of the tv (ie power board, y-sus, z-sus board and panel all make a little hum noise)
