Dell PowerEdge 2400 - Fatal Error: Controller Kernel Self Test Failed. Running Windows NT Service Pack 5.

Fatal Error: Controller kernel self-test failed

    Array Controller not started

    Controller POST operation failed

    DIMM: failed

Error: Dell PERC2 self test failed

    Component: AIC7815 NVRAM memory controller

Test: Battery disconnected, check jumper J3

    BIOS Not Installed

    No SCSI Boot Device found

    SCSI BIOS not found

    Adaptec AIC-7860 SCSI BIOS v 2.01

No Boot Device available, strike F1 to Retry Boot

RAID controller POST lights come on and start blinking long before BIOS tries to bootstrap it. Dead battery probably makes it fail entirely. Swapped it out with another RAID card, but it still could found ni SCSI boot device, even after booting from CD (Win 2000) and loading the Dell driver. Array was still good with 4/5 alive (in RAID 5). Went to tape and restored on another server. Scrap metal, boat anchor. Unless I can find some extra batteries for this RAID controller.

Resolve Error Code: C7 on SuperMicro Server

First check the OS compatibility for you motherboard here:
http://www.supermicro.com/support/faqs/os.cfm

Then, if compatible, check the IDE/SATA setting. Change the hard drive controller settings from IDE to AHCI or vice versa to see if the OS kernel panics on boot. If that does not work, please reply with your OS version and motherboard model.

I am running a Dell PowerEdge 1800 and have been for a few years. All of a sudden, the server is now making a high-pitched buzz and doesn't go away. I have restarted the server, but it eventually comes...

It is the alarm for your CERC SATA 1.5/6 RAID controller. Install OpenManage Server Administrator (Managed Node, from Dell's Support Site) to see which drive has failed. Test the drive using Online Diagnostics. If you cannot test the drive or if the drive fails, then replace it with a drive at least as large (can be larger) as the failed one. If it passes diagnostics, then simply rebuild the drive or assign the drive as a hot spare to start the rebuild.

Wont boot says array controller wont start and no bios dell power edge 2500 server

Sounds like the RAID controller has failed. I would replace this first as RAID controllers are less expensive than replacing the system board, or the server as a whole.

Suggested: PERC 5i (RAID 0/1/5) or PERC 5iR (RAID 1 or 0 only)

BOOT FAIL: PCF8584: I2C ERROR

According to the message you received on the screen there's might be something wrong with your RAM module(s). Take a look inside and see if everything's alright with RAM. Replace it to another slot if there are empty.
Download and use a program like MemTest to see if RAM is properly working.
If you have another computer which is compatible with your RAM, try it inserting then in to PC and see if everyhting's alright.
If nothing helps, then purchase a new RAM module

Beeping PowerEdge 1300

When a Dell server beeps in every 3-5 second that mean it comes from Raid controller.
Dell calls PERC Controller.
It usually reason of a disk failure.

Install open manage server administrator on your server.
See which disks are failed ?

Try to run Power edge diagnostics on the failed disk.
If it passes the test reseat the disk.
if it fails disk has to be replaced with a new one.
If passes the quick test, reseat the disk and update disk + perc firmware and driver to the latest level. that will solve the problem!!

99% beeping comes from perc controller because of a failed HDD

cheers
