Question about KitchenAid KGSA906PSS Gas Kitchen Range
The only way to turn the oven off is to set a "stop cooking" time for 1 minute later. How do I fix or do I need to call a repairman?
Over the 2008 Hoildays while baking, our Kitchenaid range (KGSA906PSS) "off" button would not turn off the gas oven portion of the range. The two ways we could turn off the oven was to either set a "stop cooking" timer for one minute or to go the main electical breaker box and cut off the electricity to the the range - either way- not a good way. We called Kitchenaid Customer Service at 1-800-334-6889 and stated the problem. We were concerned that this was a safety issue since we could not turn off our gas oven without resorting to the timer or breaker methods. The warranty for the electronics touchpad is from 2-5 years according to our owners manual. We have had the range since Aug. 2005.
We provided our model #, serial#, date of purchase and answered some other questions. Kitchenaid did determine this to be a safety issue and in doing so, our replacement part and labor will be provided free of charge.
Even if your warranty has expired, I would still call Kitchenaid first since this is a safety issue.

No need to call the repairman, youll need to replace the membrane switch( touchpad), a few screws remove the console anda few hold in hte touchpad, screwed in form behind, its important that you lookup the switch by your complete model number KGSA906pss** 00,01,02 different parts for different endings.
