You need to install the drivers for it, or atleast some sort of recovery disc. Iff so, then try updating the devices drivers and set it to browse from you CD/DVD Dtive, and it should re-install the files if they needed to be.

My hp mini web camera does not work

HP 2133 is a mini-computer (netbook) that comes with a built-in webcam you can use to take photos, record videos or video chat in messaging programs such as Skype or Yahoo Messenger. The built-in webcam generally fails to work if the driver is corrupt or damaged. Repair the webcam quickly and safely by reinstalling the driver from the HP website.

Restart your computer to reset the webcam driver. Go to the HP Support page (see Link Below). http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=3687085&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=3687084&swLang=13&taskId=135&swEnvOID=2094 - 7831 Click the "Download" button next to "HP Webcam" to download the webcam driver. When prompted, click "Save" and save the driver installation file to your desktop. Double-click the webcam installation driver and click "Run" to launch the installation wizard. Follow the guided prompts on the wizard to complete the installation. Restart your computer. Launch your messenger, media or photo application and test the webcam.

Installing webcam

Does your webcam work on this free webcam test site? If so your webcam is fine. You may want to download a free program to take webcam pictures and videos. This article has free download links. If your webcam still isn't working try downloading the webcam driver from the Fujitsu web site.

WEBCAM NOT WORKING

You need to install the proper drivers for the webcam.
The installation of a webcam itself is simple for a USB or built in webcam.

If you do not have the drivers, you need to try a hardware identification program or driver update tool.
