I can change all the settings of the settings, but it still won't start.
I am having the same issue as well i.e i can set the cycle but the washer wont start (the hourglass Icon remains lit). If i press the off button. The display shows off but the display doesnt shut down. Thought this might a control board issue. Bought one off of ebay & replaced it. Did not make any difference (p.s the machine is outside of US so calling service is not an option).
The issue was resolved after the DoorLock was serviced. It makes sense as the washer won't start the cycle before locking the door. It kept waiting for the door latch to lock.

Don't buy any Samsung products. They're definitely not worth the money. We bought the front load 2009 washer and dryer about 14 months ago. Have always had problems with the dryer -- auto dry is a joke. The washer will not allow you to change the water temp. It's supposed to automatically correct the water temp; what a joke. AND the power went off today while the washer was filling with water, with clothes in the tub. No way to open the door, and we have to wait almost a week for a service call!!! IF YOU BUY SAMSUNG PRODUCTS, YOU WILL BE WASTING YOUR MONEY!!!
